11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pink N Red Vomit,Conjoined Twins and Hateful Jewelry. on: September 10, 2010 08:49:09 AM
This is hard to say, but... I think I like these. XD The heart with "vomit" on it is the best. I completely agree. Grin  The conjoined twins are of course disturbing. The colors are all just slightly wrong, and the combinations are just not quite right, and it all adds up to... "yeah, this is Off. ...I like it."

You've got the hate just right. It's like...Valentine's Day jewelry for people whose favorite holiday is Halloween. Grin
12  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Re: Jack Skellington and Sally costumes (Nightmare before Christmas) *pic heavy!* on: September 09, 2010 02:31:04 PM
Yep, I love the one of Jack bending down to Sally, too - makes him seem that little bit more real. I also love the ones toward the bottom, Jack bending under the tree branch and sitting and glaring at the camera, and Sally in the black-and-white one. The costumes are great, but I also love the details of Sally's makeup. It's just so *perfect*. Very happy-making!

And HOW COOL to get to meet Tim Burton AS SALLY!!! I really love Sally. Ahh, now I wanna watch Nightmare again!  Cheesy
13  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Mad Men Joan Holloway costume! on: September 09, 2010 02:20:15 PM
Wow. You did such a good job that this is kind of creeping me out! Your facial expression in the picture is just exactly right. You did a really amazing job on the wig, too. I've only seen about 1.5 seasons of Mad Men (got behind Sad ) but I would have known who this was without a label.

There's a real skill to finding the right character to portray, I've learned. A lot of people just choose whoever they want to be most, rather than who they could plausibly look like. I don't know if you labored over this decision or not, but you utterly nailed it. I'm now going to hold you up as a good example when I'm in my next debate about character costuming!
14  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Zombie Girl Scout Badges on: September 09, 2010 10:54:21 AM
More! More!  Braaaaaaains! How about lurching? Limping? Coffin escaping? Digging?  XD  This is so deeply satisfying and wrong and good and brilliant and Just Plain WRONG. It makes me so happy. I'm going to be thinking these up all day now.

And whoever suggested the brain cookies, PLEASE DO IT!! Show them here! I'll buy three boxes at least! Someone must do a brain-shaped cookie cutter, don't they? Green food coloring, maybe raisins... maybe hidden gooey centers are involved? Caramel?

I just love this. Zombies can be overdone, but this is nice and original and brilliant. Zombie badges should become an international phenomenon. You should get one for every zombie march you participate in. Go forth and take over the world!!
15  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Yip Yips have taken over on: September 09, 2010 10:46:07 AM
I think I'm in love. Yay!  I love them! This is a fabulous idea! I love* it when someone comes up with something that's something we all love, but forgot about. Everyone remembers Elmo and Kermit and Miss Piggy but the yipyips are one of those you need Youtube to remind you of, and then you fall in love all over again. Smiley  Just coming up with the yipyips is great, but doing them as hats like this, and so well... HURRAY! I want to sit down and have a long talk with them. Make sure you visit my house for Halloween!

* For certain values of "love", in a teeth-gritting, silent-scream, pounding-head-on-the-floor kind of way! WAH! I WISH I'D THOUGHT OF THIS!!!!  XD
16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Angler Fish (deep sea creature) with glowing bobble, teeth, & eyes! on: September 09, 2010 10:09:03 AM
WISTED TOO!

Although I thought he was a he. For some reason, my inanimate friends are always male. Perhaps because the animate males are so disappointing?  Cheesy

I too love the teeth!  DO NOT get braces! Okay, it's possible fishie would still be adorable with straight teeth, but crazy teeth are fun. You should totally make more and taunt us all into swaps. I've heard there are places where you can swap things like stuffed fishies for money... Wink   Roll Eyes

I think fishie could also be the basis for an animated TV series. I know I'd watch it. I want to see how fishie talks with those teeth. I LOVE THE TEETH! very good nomnomnomnom teeth!
17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Doctor Who Nesting Dolls on: September 09, 2010 09:51:57 AM
Wow! I *love* that you painted the inside of the TARDIS, and I love that you did the sign on the outside, too.  XD  Personally, I wish Amy Pond was biggest instead of littlest, but then she also would have been bigger than The Doctor, too, and perhaps that's too much editorial for a swap... Grin

I also love whoever called them "gozinta" dolls. Nesting dolls and matryoshka may be better known, but "gozinta" is *way* more fun. Cheesy Keep 'em out of the gazunder!
18  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: SQUEAK - Discworld's Death of Rats on: September 09, 2010 09:37:18 AM
WHY HAVE I NEVER SeEN THIS LITTLE GUY BEFORE?Huh?   Huh Shocked

SAY YES TO THE PLUSH SKULL!  Okay, I must try to stop shouting but I love this little guy! It's almost cheating to do Death of Rats because he's so uber all by himself, but that means more pressure to get him right. And you nailed him! (Nice touch using the Kidby drawing in yer post...XD)

So yes. Quoth the Raven! That is such a You project. And Bill Door! To scale! Perhaps not all done this week... Grin

How the heck do you freestyle a rat skull?? No pattern, just dive in...? You are disturbingly talented, lady. Officially now one of my heroes.

(PS - on starting to read Pratchett... if you don't read the early ones early on, shhhh, I don't think you ever will. They're very slapsticky and undeveloped compared to the later ones. I would even go so far as to call them "zany" and "wacky". You can always go back later on and see if you like them. :} )
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Dr. Who Journal of Impossible Things Bracelet on: September 09, 2010 09:20:30 AM
Oooohhh, those are beautiful! I love how subtly this is done - not overtly "outrageous". You could collect quite a handful of compliments from mundanes without any of them asking what a TARDIS is.

Did you draw the images yourself? If yes, that just another level of Awesome. If not, I wanna know where you got them!! And it still takes a dose of brilliance to use them so well, so delicately. Again I say: *beautiful*!
20  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Tranquility - a charm bracelet on: September 09, 2010 09:16:06 AM
Ooo! Is very pretty! I love the mix of images. Marian medal...anna cupcake. XD Are you sure that's a Buddha, though? He looks skinny for a Buddha.  Roll Eyes  I'm just sayin'...

The colors also are made of win. And I like how full it is - not so full that it can't move, but full enough to require lots of looking. Good name.

Why is it I've never made a charm bracelet for me? Come to that, why don't I wear bracelets?? I think you just taught me another thing. Smiley
