5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / need ideas on putting a logo on a knitted purse?? any help out there?? on: April 29, 2005 06:51:28 AM
i have knitted a purse base, very basic with knit stich. I am wanting to place a diffrent color with the outline of the harley davidson emblim on it?? can someone give me an idea how to do this?? i started to free hand it but thought i would get your input on it first.
i dont want the detail words and such, just the outline of the emblim and im going to make the inside solid orange to go on a black bag.??
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en/homef.asp?bmLocale=en_US
here is a link to a harley site just incase you dont know what it looks like it is sort of a shield with a long square going through it. it is the one on the picture where the people are on bikes.
I really want this to look good, so any input, i thought embroidery type with my yarn would work best but im open for ideas on any way that it will work that will be functional also. i have much yarn, embroidery thread, beads, iron on adheiseve?? open totaly open!!!
thanks

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What would you do? recomendations for First time projects on Circular needles! on: April 18, 2005 06:06:48 AM
i have been knitting basic items in knit stitch for a while now, and am getting ready to pull out the circular needles!! i need any advice or input that might help me from getting discouraged! Smiley i want to get this and like it......so i was just looking for tips, tricks, advice and maybe some real good-easy pattern links to try and figure out just what to knit for my first project??
please any input will help as this will be my first time.

for example, i have had my new circular needles under my husbands side of the mattress ( like you do a new softball glove....) thinking that would get them ready to knit with??? just saw on diy the other day you just stick them in hot water???<<< felt dumb!!

so any help will help alot!!
thanks so much!!!!
