12  A couple of scarves (for Christmas!) in Crochet: Completed Projects by StickerChic87 on: December 21, 2013 10:17:53 AM
In my attempt to do some handmade gifts this year, I made a scarf each for my mother-in-law, and my Dad's wife. My husband picked out the pattern for his mom...of course he picked a "tighter" pattern that took forrrrevvver. Roll Eyes So in turn, I picked a more open pattern for my Dad's wife. Love how they both turned out.

13  Re: Fabric Art Journal Pages Swap - Send out December 16 in The Swap Gallery by StickerChic87 on: December 21, 2013 10:09:15 AM
I received two fantastic pages from pioneer9. I had house shaped pieces as my theme, and I just love both pages that she made me.

Green house:

Love the layers of tulle behind the words.

Purple/blue house:

Those little flowers!!

And here is the page I sent her. She had Pinterest inspired as one of her themes, and I saw she had this Mumford & Sons lyric pinned. Tried to do a scrappy behind-bars-taming-the-ghosts type thing.

Thanks again for swapping with me, pinoeer9! I love both of my pages! Smiley

I received an amazing pillow cover from Calabaza today! The amount of work that must have went in to cut that overlay piece, and then to sew it on...it's really incredible.

Even though it is sized for a bed pillow, it goes great with my blue couch...may just have to keep it downstairs! Cheesy

(Hmm I promise the couch really is blue, not black!)

Thanks again C! I always love swapping with you. Smiley

16  Rainbow MAQ in Quilting: Completed Projects by StickerChic87 on: October 25, 2013 10:34:18 AM
I made this for my partner for the recent MAQ swap. She mentioned she liked rainbows, geometric, and traditional style blocks, and I paired these up with my love of HSTs and scraps, and this is what I came up with. I also have to give a shout out to my pal FeliciaSlayDCRG for brainstorming with me over texting, and for some perfect scraps she sent me in a previous swap Cheesy.

Rainbow themes arent something I would usually go for, but this is the second time in a row I've incorporated a rainbow theme into a MAQ, and Im really pleased with how this one turned out.

17  Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap 7 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by StickerChic87 on: October 25, 2013 10:07:15 AM
I received a great little MAQ from Jen Sews! It incorporates a few of my themes- purple, patchy, scrappy, and quilty. She used a quote/line from a fav song that I love. Another thing I love about this MAQ is that bc it is a little smaller, it can be hung in a smaller area that my other bigger MAQs couldnt fit. There is lots of hand quilting too! Check it out!

A couple of detail shots:

Free motion embroidered words! I need to learn how to do this.

Love the different textiles used for "LOVE." The "O" is crocheted, and the "V" looks like it may be cut from a sweater type shirt.

Thanks Jen! It was fun swapping with you again. Now to find the perfect spot to hang it! Smiley

19  Bunny MAQ in Quilting: Completed Projects by StickerChic87 on: September 18, 2013 01:02:45 PM
I made this one for my pal Nikki in the Make A Friend swap. She loves bunnies, so I knew I wanted to go with that, and I love sewing in the "scrappy style" and thought that would make for a neat background. It was still missing something, so I went with a scrappy style rainbow. I used MareMare's binding tutorial for the first time, and let me say I am not using any other method from now on! I wasnt sure what color to use for the binding, but one of my partner's fav colors is pink, and I hadnt used it yet in the quilt so I decided to go with that. All in all, I am pleased with how it turned out.

Look at what my pal Calabaza sent me as a surprise for my birthday!

TWO scarves! The one on the right she dyed herself. She knows I LOVE scarves. Grin

One of her BEAUTIFUL huck woven tea towels. Of course it happens to be the one I specifically commented on liking. Wink Some of the leftover dyed fabric and some Sour Patch Kids (love).

And a scrappy pillowcase that I love. The funny thing about this is that I own a few items she has made previously using some of these fabrics, and I was just thinking that my current pillowcase (also from her) needed a wash.

Thanks again C! You're such a great friend! Smiley
