I wasn't entirely sure where to put this, I traced it so I figured here was best/good enough.
I did this for my boyfriend's birthday, he is a big Simpson's fan. It was very simple, just traced a picture from the internet onto a canvas and painted in the black with what I believe to be acrylic paint. There are a few flaws, for instance I just noticed the line at the very top is not straight. But oh well, here's a picture of it on his wall

This is the dress I made for my year 12 ball (the Australian version of prom). Technically it's the second, I began with making a floor length dark blue one, which I basically stuffed up but no longer liked enough to fix. So I made this in 2 and a half weeks

I'm pretty happy with it, there is a huge raw edge at the join of the skirt and the bodice, due to the large number of layers (something like 9, plus the folds in the bodice). It's made of chiffon and a cotton/spandex blend (i think).
I also didn't hem it, namely because I knew it wouldn't look any good. So I used a product called fray-stoppa, which did a good enough job. I was a bit worried about the effects of dancing and thus a lot of sweating, but it held up very well

And the detail of the invisible zip and ribbon. I'm surprised at how easy it is to put in an invisible zip, but I can never get it straight!

2 of my friends teamed up for their birthday party, this was a while ago, and decided on a sexual fantasies theme. Us being a rather special group, we chose costumes such as sexy batman (female), pool boy, sexy darth vadar (female), life guard, and a few clever in joke costumes. 3 of us dressed up as characters from the Rocky Horror Picture show, we had Rocky, Frank N Furter, and I, Magenta.

My costume was made out of a black dress, and white men's shirt, both from an op shop. I cut the dress down the middle, added buttons and loops, and used the cuffs and collar from the mens shirt. The apron and maids cap were made from the material of the mens shirt, i thought the apron would be quite see-through but it didnt show the gaps between buttons at all (i really should have used more). Rocky was meant to be fully blonde on the night, but it didnt end up happening. I also made his shorts, just sewed gold spandex onto a pair of his underwear (that was an interesting experience). And yes Frank is a female

 

I've decided to make my ball dress, and I have a bit more then 2 months...I'm working on a design now, and was wondering how I'd do the following gathers (on the bust)

I want them all to be about the size of the smallest one, could I please have some advice on how to do this? I'll probably be working with chiffon, should i use two layers to get the effect?
I could probably spend ages hand sewing it, but proper technique would be appreciated

I made this (ages ago) for a thing called Mufti Day at my school, where everyone gets to dress up and have fun.
It's made of 2 hula hoops, tape, bubble wrap, wooden skewers, very stretchy spandex fabric, and ribbon.
I made two buttons and then wore them sandwich board style over a black top and black jeans.
