5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / anyone use tiger tail? on: January 23, 2006 04:20:52 PM
hello!

i've got a length of tiger tail i've been using to make necklaces with but i'm never happy with the results. there always seems to be a kink in the wire and the necklaces never fall nice. anyone know if it's possible to get rid of the kink or if there's a way to avoid it? what's the best material to make a necklace with, someone that is thin enough to go through small beads and things but can be fastened with a clasp.

thanks so much!

7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / "send me some inspiration" swap? on: January 11, 2006 01:16:52 PM
so here's my idea...everyone who signs up chooses something they've been wanting to do but haven't got the right inspiration/motivation to start/finish (for example, learning an instrument, redecorating a room, discovering a new craft, losing weight, getting better grades, etc.). pretty much anything and everything goes. nothing is too silly or small.

then you and your partner make each other packages to inspire/motivate the other to start/finish said project. for instance, say jane and betty are partners. jane wants to be a better cook and betty wants to write more poetry. betty might make jane an apron or oven mitts, a recipe organizer, recipes and so on. jane might make betty a small collection of poems, a journal/notebook, and buy her a pen.

so who else needs some inspiration?
8  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / necklace swap? on: January 06, 2006 03:33:28 PM
i'm in need of some new necklaces but haven't seen anything good and affordable lately so i thought others feeling the same might wanna do a necklace swap, plain and simple. plus i've been looking to organize a swap and this might be pretty easy to handle.

everyone could say what colours and styles they like, whether they want it fancy or casual, etc. and what kind of necklaces you like to make and i'd do my best to match us all up.

it'd be a simple swap, not too expensive to do or send. if people want to make/recieve more than one necklace we can always have two partners each.

anyone interested?
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / crafty christmas wishlist - what are you asking santa for? on: November 22, 2005 08:23:24 PM
i've decided to have a crafty christmas and ask for all crafting-related items. but i'm having trouble deciding what tools, organizers, new crafts, papers, kits, etc. to put on my christmas list.

so if you could ask santa for any crafty item (or a couple, if there's a few things you want) what would you ask for?

and let's pretend money is no object!

i'll start.....right now i'm thinking about one of those scrapbooking alphabet embossing kits or maybe some sort of sticker maker. i'm sure i'll think of more later, i just wanted to get the ball rolling.

what are you asking for?
10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / making a prosperity shrine - help on: October 30, 2005 02:08:49 PM
so i wanted to make my sister a prosperity shrine. she just moved and is having trouble finding a job and so i thought the shrine could be a sorta cheerup/good luck/housewarming gift. it's my first time making a shrine and i want it to be nice enough that she could leave it on display. anyone have any symbols/colours that mean prosperity for any other ideas for a prosperty/job hunting shrine. just thought i'd ask while i'm surfing the net for my search. thanks gals!
