1  Re: Collages...What have you done w/ em in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fruithead on: September 06, 2005 02:19:24 PM
this is my dresser, which i collaged about a year ago. i used to have a really bad magazine habit in my teens so i had a ton of cosmogirls, ym's, seventeens, us, people, cosmo....etc. and my mother forced me to get rid of them so i replaced the magazine buying habit with a magazine cutting habit.

now i'm only allowed to buy glamour and people. luckily i still have tons of cosmos because i just recently decided it was an awful magazine and i shouldn't contribute money to them, even if they are good for making collages.

anyway, here it is:

and a close up

2  Re: Spooky Story/Place I.E. Campfire Tales in New Swap Theme Ideas by fruithead on: August 12, 2005 05:53:34 PM
there's an abandoned mental institution in the next town and it's sooo creepy. it's been closed for 20 or so years and is built like a little community with separate buildings and cottages for housing. i'm a huge coward and have ony been in during the daylight and never anywhere sunlight doesn't go but apparantly it's got a morgue and a bowling alley somewhere. i've never experienced anything odd but i've heard it's really haunted. i only wish was gutsy enough to find out for myself. there's stuff about it all over the internet, just google "whitby psych". it's pretty interesting.

it's become quite the teen hangout though and it's a mess of beer bottles and grafitti. what a shame. but it's full of asbestos anyway.

here's a pic i took there once...

3  Re: come one! come all! post pics of your tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by fruithead on: August 08, 2005 08:27:04 PM
please excuse the photo quality. i couldn't get a good pic of my back myself and my mom's grasp of my digital camera is not so good. it's on my lower back, in what i think has become a very stereotypical spot for girls to get tattoos *sigh* but i'm not allowed visible tattoos/piercings until i'm out of my parents house so i didn't know where else to put it.

anyway, the colour is actually much sharper. i've had it for about 3 years. i'd like to get a second tattoo, something in the same style/colours.

i'd ask what you all thought but i think it's a little late for that...so then i'll ask, what would go nicely as a second tattoo?

i know it took me long enough, but finally...

here's what gink sent me (plus another little coin purse that's currently in my purse and one of those big plastic buttons you pop apart and put your own pic inside)...and the tart coin purse says "eat me" just in case you can't read it

5  diorama in a purse in CHALLENGE 3 ENTRIES by fruithead on: June 30, 2005 03:49:54 PM
here is my contribution to the diorama challenge. it was inspired by a web site about victor hugo era france and i took the images from that web site.

it's made in a cigar box-turned purse for easy portability. here's the front

and the diorama on display

finally, a close-up of the scene. hope you can all see it clearly (sorry about the podge-related glare)

so what do you think? all i used was the box, the images, tiny scissors, podge, newspaper and some red flowers.

ok, here are the lovely bookmarks i got in this swap. darkest_faerie sent me the adorable cupcake one. kmsmaverick went crazy and sent three--a lovely jewelled one, a sewn one and one from her local library (i love it!). finally, writer78 sent me mr. darcy, you can see him on page one but i thought i'd post again because he's so great.

thanks ladies! i love them all!

7  time is on my side...or the watch flower pin thingy in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by fruithead on: April 15, 2005 10:11:57 AM
so this is my first completed project post! yay!
i never remember to wear my watch and since i had a watch face that had been sitting around for a while, it's strap long broken, i decided to put it to good use...and now i'll always know what time it is.
all it took were a few fabric scraps, felt, a hot glue gun and some sewing.
