1  Re: Fairy Wings I made for my sister-- What do you think? in Costumes: Completed Projects by CisteCaise on: April 10, 2005 04:54:35 PM
The top 2 wing sections are actually one really long length of 16 gauge jewelry wire, and the bottom two are also from one long piece. I shaped the two different wire pieces into my desired shape and then stitched the white undershirt material over them. Then I painted the top and bottom pieces (I'm not very good at making symmetrical stuff, so they're not very even looking with the painted design). After finishing the painting and glittering, I positioned both wire/fabric pieces where I wanted them and wrapped some more wire around the central area. Then I wrapped some masking tape around the wire; then some pretty ribbon over the tape to hide it's ugliness and proceeded to decorate in a fashion similar to the wing picture I scanned from my sister's notebook.

I know that it may sound kinda wonky, so I drew some very lame-o pictures to kind of illustrate what I did:

2  Fairy Wings I made for my sister-- What do you think? in Costumes: Completed Projects by CisteCaise on: April 08, 2005 03:53:00 PM
Hey all!
I made these fairy wings for my little sister's 17th birthday... I hope she likes them... What do you guys think? She's a huge fan of the local Renaissance Festival and my Mom is making her a Ren/Fantasy outfit in complementary colors as well... I'm thinking about making a head-wreath or a pair of polymer clay horns to go with it too... What do you think?

P.S. That's my wonderful hubby modeling them for me.  Wink

3  My Soap Creation -- Please tell me what you think :) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by CisteCaise on: February 15, 2005 06:58:00 PM
Hey everyone! This is my first attempt at making MP soap sans mold... They're supposed to be quartz crystals. They're 3-D and stand up (hard to tell from the photo). Please tell me what you think, be brutal if need be.

Thanks!
