I have been playing with ikea furniture as my base for awhile now and just saw ready made's new issue on doing just that.
However, looking on the internet, I have come up with zero.
Anyone have links/pictures of cool things that they have done to their ikea furniture.
Like making a sideboard out of a bookcase, or making a bed from them?

There are not too many great crafty type stores in DC But in..I think november....they opened Paper source in georetown. I go all the time! I love it!!!
While it's not cheap, they have a lovely selection and tools n stuff you cant find anywhere else.
Their books are amazing and their second level is the best- and it looks like their going to have lil classes even!!!
Their hiring, but I dont know what the hell they require since I applied, have great refrences and expirence, and they didnt hire me >< poopy. 
Anyone else spend their entire budget there?

The only problem is, I have major allergies to anything with wheat or gluten- and peeps have gluten
So I was thinking, can I use this machine to make something else cool, like candy or something?
Ideas?

My girlfriend has a iv pump and we have dozens of syringes(needless) everywhere!
It's killing me that all this is going to the waste dump- they are not hazerdous, they were just full of saliene.
I need to make something with all these- plus I have iv tubing and saliene bags up the wazoo!
I was thinking of using the syringes to hold stuff, like advil or mouthwash...Making a lil holder for them, like those metal test tube holders we all played with in chemistry, and then hanging them on the wall.
Anyone else have any cool ideas? I'm drowning in these things

I have an ikea bookshelf that has been sitting there, empty, yelling at me to use it.
I was going to decoupage the back of it with goregous paper and use it as a display shelf but then had this wacky idea:
What if I turned it on it's side, so its long instead of high, drill screws to connect the shelves more securely to the actually bookshelf, and buy cabinet type doors to make lil storage. Thus making it a sideboard.
I could even get http://search.ebay.com/Hairpin-Legs_W0QQfkrZ1QQfromZR8 hairpin legs to raise it higher if I wanted.
My question is this: Is this all in my head, or is this actually a possible? How hard would it be to install doors on the bookshelf? I know they sell all these diffrent doors for cabients at ikea- would this work?
You guys are very handy so I thought I would bring this challenge to you!
