I'm thinking of making Wisp in KP Gossamer (the sweet peas color way). Has anyone used this kind of yarn for this project?

I don't know that anyone has used this sort of yarn for this project, but I think it would work well.  It's a very simple lace pattern that I think would go well with multi colored yarn.

It looks great so far!  Be sure to share it when you're finished  Smiley

I have one question: in the pattern it just says to cast on and bind off "loosely", did that work for you who have already done one? I read something about special lace cast-on and bind-off methods the other day, but I've never used one before. I'm slightly worried because I tend to make my cast-ons and bind-offs rather tight anyway. And here that might be particularly bad, right?

When I did mine, I did my normal cast-off (knit 2, pass 1st knit stitch over second, knit 1, pass knit stitch over new knit stitch, etc), but I used a larger needle to do this (I did this on 8's and cast off on 10's) because my cast off is usually tight and this did the trick.  As for the cast on, I did the long tail cast on, which is really stretchy.  I've done some lace before and this is the method I always have used and it works for me.  Hope that helps Smiley

that is gorgeous littlesailor! did you put any buttons on it?

Nope, no buttons.  I couldn't find any that I liked and I made it longer, so it really wouldn't have worked well with buttons in any of the ways it shows to be worn.

I finished mine two weeks ago and forgot to post about it.  I did 21 repeats instead of whatever the pattern called for to make a nice wrap or scarf.

Here's some photos!

Oh I so need to join this!  I have.... NINE WIPs right now... eep!

I'll start with my oldest and work to the newest:

1. Icarus shawl (started early 2006) - 15%
2. Baby blanket (project taken over for a friend) - 40%
3. Starlight Sweater from a Rowan book (started March of this year) - 20%
4. Scarf for my sister (started end of Aug. this year) - 50%
5. Noro Cardigan (started end of Aug. this year) - 40%
6. Wisp (started end of Aug. this year) - ?
7. The Bag from No Sheep for You (started beg. of Oct) - 5%
8. Toe-up socks (started a week ago) - 20%
9. Shawl I'm test knitting (started yesterday!) - ?

I'm not really sure where to start!  Wisp is actually done because I've knit the 17 reps it calls for, but I'm still trying to decide if I should keep going until I run out of yarn or just stop now.  That would be one thing off the needles, but then I'd be left with yarn I don't know what to do with  Undecided

I work on each one a little here and there except Icarus, baby blanket and the starlight sweater which have been sitting in their bags for a good while now without any work!  Maybe this will help me finish them!

Looking at mine in person, it's all sort of wonky on the edges, but blocking should even things out a lot.  I think that the KSH has a lot more fuzz to it so it's not quite as noticeable.  I'm sure yours will be fine once you block it Smiley

I'm still working on mine!  I've done 18 reps and I'm going to keep going until I'm tired of it or out of yarn  Wink

I'm going to be starting a pair very soon.  I got the yarn about two weeks ago, but have vowed to finish at least one project before I cast these on.  I'm dying to start, though!!
