41  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Let's Get Intimate (SIGNUP 7/7/05-7/27/05; MAIL #1 BY 8/27/05). on: July 27, 2005 08:34:42 AM
Any news from Leah Kat?

If this swap is a bust, I would like to sign up for another instead but I also don't want to overbook myself.  I'm also worried about TabaRhodes...has this kind of thing happened before?

Maybe Tabarhodes is away on vacation? Hope all is well, and that enough people signed up.

I am excited for this swap!!

Yay!  I am so happy you liked it.  I have a ton of pictures of that purse because I really loved how it came out.  Maybe I will post one more later iffin no one minds.

I just can't believe how quickly it came.  Maybe that was why it cost 22 bucks to ship-the mailroom sent it extra super duper priority?

OK, now I am bummed but I have learned a lesson.  I went down to my office postal center and asked if they can ship Global Priority since some of you mentioned that was the way to go.  I found out that my large envelope would have cost me $9 as opposed to $22 for regular mail. This makes absolutely no sense to me, as it would seem to send priority mail should be more costly.  And now I am worried that my package may not arrive at all...but hopefully that is probably just paranoia on my part. Carina, as soon as it arrives let me know so I can stop having panic attacks!  (Just kidding)  Also, I wanted to mention I took a bunch of pics of it as well, so when you give the OK I will post them.

At any rate, I didn't see this particular nugget mentioned in the shipping tips thread so I am going to add it (unless you guys see it and I am just dumb).  What a waste!

I guess I'm just lucky crafty dame!

Carina, not to worry, it's not your fault.  I'll figure it out next time...I think I am just a bit cursed.

Hmmm,  well my office allows you to use their mailroom and everyone says it's cheaper, but maybe there are better offers internationally at the regular post office.

I guess you live and learn, but I feel like a doodiehead.  If it's always going to cost that much intl. I might have to not swap abroad. *sigh*

Egads!  I just mailed my package to Carina and regular mail to Portugal for a 1.1lb package was $22!! (And that was bulk rates!)

Is that normal?  I'm wondering if I valued the package too high, does that affect the shipping cost?

Ok, well I will do green too as long as we can try to do red next!  (Can you tell I have some yummy red fabric burning a hole in my collection?)
