wow, I never thought I'd be saying this so early in the game, but remember your DC #'s everyone!  send them to me and and your partner.

Ignorance here. What's um... a DC #? *checks wallet and comes up with Metro card* No... that can't be right.

And, I've gotta say, I finally understand why the gallery is separate from the sign-up. I've got the beginnings of all my projects for my partner, but I know if I saw the items in the gallery I'd be all humbled into inactivity!

Hi Regan, as your friendly local swap organizer, I''m glad you asked.  Smiley  As it says in craftster's swap instructions (which I urge anyone who has not read them to do so immediately--you can find them in the swap folder or in my initial post to get this swap going, and you are supposed to read them if you are swapping) swappers are supposed to get Delivery Confirmation Numbers from the US postal service when they mail.  They cost $0.55,. but the peace of mind for you, your partner, and your organizer?  Priceless!

So everyone, don't forget--DC's to me and your partner in a PM when you mail.  Thanks! Grin

I just happened to buy this pattern the other day, so I rather happy that I've found this thread  Grin

I havn't started on it -- I havn't made anything this complicated before (actually, nothing more complicated than patchwork cushions  Roll Eyes ), so my mum's going to help me.

I think I'm going to use some rather pretty sari fabric, which is pinky with blue and green swirly vintage-y bits on it, which I found in my mum's sewing cupboard, unless I find something I like better in Brick Lane this weekend.

yay using sari fabric!  let us know how it turns out--what kind of texture/fibre content is it?  I have some rayon saris i bought in Brick Lane when i used to go there all the time.  i miss living in London so badly.

awww this is totally giving me flashbacks to my mainline college days (Bryn Mawr)... saving up money to go to ewe and i in Bryn Mawr, the fire that put them out of business for a little while right when I was ready to commit to buying wool for that first sweater...  visiting my best friend's family in Sellersville and going on Michaels binges with her and her mom...

aw, the good old days.

Hey djungelorms friend!

Yup, it is Williams.  Did you go there too?  I went to my 5 yr. reunion a few weeks ago, so I've got cows on the brain.

I almost did and I still give them credit for figuring me out long before I did--I applied as a bio major and they kept saying, "You really seem like a writer to us.  We like that."

fast forward to junior year @ Bryn Mawr, after a misguided detour through math major-hood, and lo and behold I become an english major with a creative-writing concentration.

(Now? humanities grad student, film writer.)

yup.

anyway, for that reason, Ii have a warm fuzzy place in my heart for them.  And everyone was so cute and nice about "carefully" hosting specs during the head lice epidemic.

oh geez my 5 year @ BMC is next spring.  eek.

sorry to digress from the thread.  back to my german homework.  how silly of me to imagine summer school could possibly end with undergrad.
