It smells like chocolate because of the cocoa butter! (yum). The orange probably comes from the grapefruit oil, since citruses tend to smell similar (at least to my nose they do, and they have some of the same oils in them).

Also, awesome for making your own! I'll get to that one of these days... Cheesy

Yup, I figured. But you should try it! It's fun and simple.

You can buy pre-sweetened flavor oils, or you can just use some liquid sweetener--make sure it's not water based or it's not going to blend in. They sell it at various soap making site. Or, if you have some liquid stevia you might try that, I think that's the same thing basically that the soap sites sell. Just remember to just use a tiny bit or it gets bitter! Leaving it natural is always fine too!

Ah, cool. Thanks! I'll try and get some by the time these run out, so I can make more, but that probably won't be too soon.

Looks great! You won't really get a taste from lip balm flavorings unless you also use a sweetener.

Ah, I guess that makes sense... Ha, what would you suggest?

(the two far ones are used)
So, yesterday I made chapstick.
It's pretty much amazing.
I used coco butter in this recipe, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=50979.msg476064#msg476064 but only made a half recipe.
It smells like orange chocolate, though I used grapefruit oil. It doesn't really taste like anything, since I didn't add a lot of essential oil, but I love it, it goes on smooth and works very well.
7  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / I taught myself to spin on: June 17, 2011 02:54:38 PM
So, yesterday I got materials to make a spindle. And so I did. Now, of course, if you're gonna have a spindle, you ought to learn to spin. So I did. Now, the book I got at the library stunk, so I looked a bit on the internet and taught myself from that. It's made from lionbrand homespun. I have a ton left over from an old halloween costume and so i took out the threads that held it together (however poorly) and spun it. It was kinda irritating me when kit wasn't plied, so I did. I love the color, it's kinda strawberry's and cream colored. It's soft too! It's even, thanks to the fact that I used some yarn that was already even...

This was the very first yarn I was happy with.

This is some more I spun while watching Doctor Who. (With Tom Baker Shocked)

9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My Purse on: May 15, 2011 03:57:27 PM
I made a purse. Smiley

I made it this morning and afternoon because I wanted to have a purse to go with the dress my mother is helping me make. The dress will be the colorful fabric with the dark blue for a waist. The pink is just a random piece of fabric I found in my room. The zipper is light blue because it was the only on in the house, tough it matches fairly well. You can see the shoes to go with it as well. Anyway, this was my second bag to sew, the first one was in home ec. class last year, which is how I knew how to sew the zipper. The lining is pink and flowery. Seeeeeeee. o.o

It's also quilted and squishy. However, it doesn't make a good pillow. I don't have pictures of it, but when the strap is over one shoulder, the bag is at my hip.

I'm really happy with how this turned out, and can't wait to use it.

Also, it's cat approved! (Daw...)

Silly, you put the inside of the bag in another dimension! And if it is infact the 10th doctors TARDIS, you realize I WILL have to steal it.
