1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / my baby bro's first go! on: February 05, 2012 02:48:13 AM
Tonight I was just going to make a wee embroidery to keep me occupied, I had just started, cut out a wee felt critter and done a few stitches, then put it down to cook dinner.
A few minutes later my baby bro picks it up (I say baby, but gosh he is 17 now!) and starts stitching. I decide not to say anything, as I didn't want to draw attention to it or embarrass him. So I crept up and took a photo instead!

I told him if he wanted it could be his, and that I would teach him a few more stitches, a couple of hours later we have this!

I'm really proud of him, he did running stitch applique, backstitch aaaaaaaaand satin stitch and french knots! Sorry this photo sucks, I wish I could take a better one to show off my little mans skills!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / swear word swap? on: February 02, 2012 06:05:16 PM
would anyone be interested in crafting up some delightful cuss words? There are so many different things we could do, and it would be a lot of fun.
I have not organised a swap before, and am a little hesitant about doing so, so if anyone would like to organise that would be awesome, but if there is interest and noone willing to organise it I will give it a go as long as we keep the group small.
So, who is interested, and when would you be keen to do it?
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / rainbow french knot curse word on: February 01, 2012 03:12:35 AM
So, I just learned to french knot, and inspired by mezcraft's awesome french knot work I decided to do something myself.
I love rainbows, and I love swearing, so I made this...

Some of the knots are a bit messy, and the colouring changes direction after the first letter. but I am still really damn proud of it, and it didn't even take me too long! Now I want to do ALL my favourite curse words!! =D
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / a colourful little girl on: January 18, 2012 11:18:05 PM

I am still a really novice embroiderer, but I have a hell of a lot of fun doing it! I adapted a picture I found online. Even though she is a bit wonky I am really happy with her, I think she is a total cutie! I learnt how to french knot for this piece, for her buttons and eyes, you can see my practice ones in the corner!
Hope you all enjoy, and would love feedback =)
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / moustache rings for movember! on: November 08, 2011 08:12:32 PM

Here are some rings I made to sell in a store in town! 50% of the profit will be going to Movember, I feel good to be helping out with such a good cause!!
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / two simple pin up girls (EDIT, NOW THREE on: October 26, 2011 09:38:50 PM
Two pretty simple pin up girls, using pictures I found by googling 'naked woman line drawing' or something like that. This is my first go doing embroidery that isn't cross stitch and I really love it. So quick! Anyway, even though they are nothing compared to the amazing things I see on here I am really proud of them both, and the gal with the whip is now framed and ready to give as a gift.

Finished this one last night! I really like her and I love the way my stitches are getting neater. Does anyone have any tips on framing them though? I just did a line of glue around some paper and then glued it to my fabric but it doesn't look so good!

Would love any and all feedback, thanks  Cheesy
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Rings I have made on: October 09, 2011 12:26:21 AM
I have been making rings lately, so much fun!

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Harry Potter poem card on: March 07, 2011 06:17:20 PM

Made this card for my crush/fellow HP fanatic. Backstitched words, cross stitched border. I really love the tread I used on the border, it is in various shades of green, but it was tricky getting it matched up so it fades around properly.
Stuck it onto some matching textured card and decorated it with a rub on transfer
Havn't given it to her yet, but I really hope she likes it. =)
9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / a very potter musical x stitch on: January 25, 2011 09:25:17 PM
this was my very first 'real' cross stitching. before this i had done a few mushrooms and swear words to practise my stitching and my fonts.
i didn't know what to make, and as i was watching AVPM at the time this came naturally.
It took me over 12 hours of almost non stop stitching, and I made up the font myself.
I am totally proud of it, even though it isnt as special as some of the other stuff on this site.

excuse the awful pictutes, and the creases from the hoop! looking at the picture now, i see the Hogwarts should have been more centered, but other than that I am really happy with it.

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / collage for my friend on: November 29, 2010 09:09:01 PM
Made this collage for my friends 21st. Kinda went for a horror house theme. Wrote her name with scrabble tiles, painted the frame black.
I think she really liked it.
