Wow, I can't believe how little interest there is in this.  T_T  Lots of nice discussion though.

Oh, yes, please! Would you allow new swappers? Would another round of this swap happen at some point if you wouldn't? I jumped out of my chair squeeing when I saw this thread.

Lifelong linguistics nerd, here! I even received an unabridged dictionary, as well as one of etymology, for my birthday when I was a kid. I kill at Scrabble. Those simple-substitution puzzles some newspapers print rarely parse that way to me since I solve them on-sight. I turn names, signs, labels...the last sentence I heard...into anagrams in my head as a way to relax. Every single thing I do art- or craft-wise incorporates language.

This is the perfect swap! I would savor connecting with another soul as nerdy and possessed as myself. Semi-related point of curiosity: I wonder if any one else here has synaesthesia? Broadly speaking: perceptions in one sense triggering perceptions in another, such as words and music parsing as color, shapes having personalities, tasting numbers... Common-ish among language nerds. Might be fun to incorporate into a swap like this.

I'm going to have this swap in September.  It appears you have the minimum time and post requirements met, so yes you would be able to join.  Just look on the Craft Swap board towards the end of August/beginning of September, send the questionnaire, and then post in the thread.

I have synesthesia, but it pertains to seeing music and other sounds.  Maybe a synesthesia swap?
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: GALLERY: Craft My Pet For Me on: July 28, 2014 12:02:40 PM
Okay, first I have to say that I had not intended to resign myself to a crying fit this morning.  Then I opened this wonderful package that I received from I sew cute.  I've been crying ever since.  I am a sentimental fool when it comes to my animals.

First, I got a few pieces of jewelry that depict my first love, Middy.  I had her from the time I was eight until I had to euthanize her on my 25th birthday.  She was one of the first cats I rescued, and she has always been my muse.

Middy ring

Middy locket (pic on outside)/charm necklace

Middy locket ("SWEET" on outside, pic on inside)

Then she made me these beautiful pictures based on the portraits I sent.

Middy (my beautiful muse)

Odin (my Norse one-eyed god)

Nina (my Southern belle flamepoint Siamese)

I laughed and cried because you captured their purrsonalities so purrfectly.

Thank you so much for Monday morning tears.

I received from alwaysinmyroom.  I absolutely love this fabulous GoT piece.  She also sent some fabric for me to craft my own pages.

Thank you!

Is there anything special you fellow word-nerds would like to see for this swap?  Grin

It seems like a lot of you would be game if I organized this in mid-September.  That way, we could hash out a swap before the Halloween awesomeness in October.

Does that sound good?
