4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / New Specimen: Pygmy Land Walrus on: May 14, 2011 12:22:54 AM

Here is my newest specimen from my project, The Marcus Kelli Collection

Photographs by Ren Dodge

If anyone is interested how I made him:
I made a wood structure that I wrapped paper towels around to get the rough shape, then I use masking tape to wrap around the paper towels to hold them all together. Then I paper mache over the tape and use melted beeswax and cut faux fur with a bit of paint for the fur (in a nutshell)
the whiskers are made from the ends of a broom!

here is my old post where I explain the Marcus Kelli Collection a bit better

I received my wonderful OTT which I put to use immediately! I will try to get pics up today after work!
-On my end, I was hoping to send out today before work, but I woke up too late -_-'  Hopefully I can get it in the mail tonight, otherwise I'll have to send tomorrow (only slightly late)
But it is complete and glorious and I hope my partner will enjoy it!

After tonight my life will be normal again! Ive been crafting all month for the monthly first friday art murmur. I had gotten about 3/4 done with my OTT but had to put it on hold to finish getting everything ready for tonight.
I have sunday off and plan on finishing up and sending monday Cheesy
It's  not exactly tiny... but it's a tiny version of something that is usually much bigger. I hope that fits the OTT criteria Tongue
