This guy took me ages to design! There is more on him and more pics on my blog (cos I'm lazy and linking is easier!) Smiley

2  We all make mistakes... in Needlework: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: October 15, 2013 02:58:49 AM
I made this to remind myself while sewing/doing crafty stuff, that you can't be perfect all the time so don't worry about it!
Blog post on it is here: http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2013/10/we-all-make-mistakes.html
I'm a newbie to embroidery so it's pretty basic. Heh.

Any thoughts on cool stuff to do to the hoop/presentation before hanging? I'm thinking of leaving it plain.

4  I made tonnes of amigurumi lol. Loads of pics! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: October 24, 2012 01:45:08 PM
After learning amigurumi, I had to have a go at designing some of my own so I made a series of bunnies.  3 of these pics are not my design (the bears and flower).  More info on the ol' blog here:
http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2012/10/crochet-kick.html

this one, I brushed up its fur for fuzziness, using a pet slicker brush (the one with short wires)

I think my fav is the grey bunny- that was the hardest to design too since the body has a more complicated shape.
Although figuring out the colour changes for the spotted bunny took me a long time too!

And this is the box they were photographed in.  If you're interested, more info in the blog post Smiley

5  Chu Chu from Legend of Zelda! UPDATE: Now with pattern link! :) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: August 10, 2012 04:28:26 PM
Hi everyone!
I made an amigurumi chu chu!

You Zelda afficionados will know who this goopy little guy is Smiley
Here a pic of original chu chu (usually they are much smaller)

I made him for my husband as we are both Zelda fans!

I worked quite hard to make it just right, and I even wrote out the pattern if anyone is interested.
There is a Chu Chu pattern at Nerdigurumi that I'm sure some of you have seen, but mine is actually very different.  It's about half the size, and has different eyes and shaping, especially the feet.  The feet are crocheted as part of the body instead of being crocheted separately and sewn on.  Smiley

Next up I am planning on an amigurumi Goron Smiley

P.S Hey, I have uploaded the pattern for anyone who wants it:

You'll find it at the bottom of the page here. Smiley
Hope someone enjoys it!

Hi everyone!
I'm happy to hear some of you started yours!
And if you have any questions, visit either of our blogs, or get in touch.  We love to help!

Here is the finished cardigan!

I'm happy and proud!
And as a beginner, I know that any other beginner can do it, since I managed it!  You can do it, don't be afraid!

You can see more photos and information here at the blog post I made about the finished cardigan Smiley

7  Felted Bunny Slippers in Knitting: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: June 20, 2012 08:12:31 PM
These are knitted up and hand felted.  I can't believe the magic of felting!  It was my first time..

Here is a before and after felting pic, amazing!

Little pom poms for the tails Smiley

More on my blog here:http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2012/06/bunny-slippers.html Smiley
This pattern is called hopsalots by TinyOwlKnits and it's on Ravelry.

I'm pretty happy with how they came out and they're definitely warm and snuggly!  But too cute to ruin by scuffing around in all day!

8  Vintage Owl Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: May 25, 2012 10:41:46 PM
Completed, my first embroidery!
I took this vintage embroidery pattern and added to it and refined it.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/sewshesews/5336796427/in/pool-341081@N20

Stitches used include lazy daisies, back stitch, satin stitch, seed stitch, stem stitch, scallop stitch, and chain stitch.  (Chain stitch is the fill on the wing).

Since this is my first embroidery comments, criticisms and any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Also, if anyone wanted my "new and improved" version of the pattern I could probably sort something out!

9  Beginner Cardigan Knit-Along in Knitalongs by pinkcatflower on: April 05, 2012 03:51:33 PM
Hi everyone!
I thought I'd say howdy and let you guys know about a knit-along!

I'm a beginner and met Gail, an experienced knitter through Ravelry.  We decided to do a knit-along on our blogs.  And of course, the more the merrier!  Now I hope this is okay, since most of the topics on this board seem to be knit-alongs WITHIN craftster.  I hope I'm not out of line here.

Anyway, we are going to be knitting the Miette cardigan.  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/miette
It's cute, and free too!

You can see our intro blog posts here:
http://gksagenda.blogspot.co.nz/2012/04/knitting-along.html
http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2012/04/knit-along-plans.html

Gail is going to be doing lots of helpful walking-through for beginners!

Hope this doesn't come off as self promotional, but basically, I want as many people as possible to join, the more the merrier right?  Gail is going to be putting plenty of work into her posts and I want as many people as possible to benefit Smiley

I just love the online community there is around sewing and knitting/crochet, it's so supportive and nice Smiley  If you think you'd like to knit along, do join us!

10  Amigurumi Chihuahua in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pinkcatflower on: April 03, 2012 04:03:18 PM
Hi!
I've only made one amigurumi before, my second one is for a friend.  I mostly used the same parts as my first pattern (you can see it here- it's a design by Ana Paula Rimoli)- http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2012/02/my-first-amigurumi.html).
But I made up my own ears and tail, and made some fancy colour changes (I felt all fancy for learning it!)

There are more pics on my blog here:  http://makingitwell.blogspot.co.nz/2012/04/chihuahua-amigurumi.html

Amigurumi is so fun.  I want to make more!
