Oh my gosh.. I love it! I especially like the kewpie.. I just love those little guys, My grandma always had an old kewpie primer in her living room that I used to spend hours reading whenever I went to visit as a child- when my daughter was born she gave it to me........ anyway, kind of off the subject-sorry. You did a fantastic job and I am super envious of your collection
262  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / thrifty frames on: November 01, 2005 10:40:52 PM
These are some frames I salvaged from my favorite thrift shop--- a little acrylic paint, scrapbook supplies and some modge podge and they have a whole new life. This is my first posted project, not super creative, I know but still fun... and who doesn't like to recycle?

263  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Gift for deer hunter?? on: November 01, 2005 12:10:44 PM
Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. i especially like the scrapbook and fingerless gloves ideas, I think I will be making those. Halfelvenwriter- that lamp sounds so cool, but I wouldn't even know how to begin- though it might be worth it to see my stepmom's reaction ti something like that going into her carefully decorated house. Our family ornaments don't even make it onto her tree so I doubt she would let something like that be on display. I smile just thinking about it though  Grin

265  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Gift for deer hunter?? on: October 30, 2005 06:51:16 PM
So i have decided to do a crafty christmas this year and have most of my gifts planned, but I am stumped when it comes to my father... he is really into hunting, very sentimental and loves handmade gifts and cards, but also very practical. I knit, sew, paint, scrap, etc........ any suggestions would be much appreciated.

a record bowl? or maybe you could somehow form a box from a record - that would be REALLY cool. and music themed  Wink
I've seen scrapbooks/notebooks made from cut records-maybe you could make a binder this way

just a thought-- you could get one of those wooden boxes from the craft store, paint it and decoupage with lyrics from his favorite songs
