1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / (FIRST EVER CROCHET PROJECT!) Spunky Lil' Ballerina on: November 11, 2012 03:38:56 AM
Hello everyone!

So this is my first ever (finished) crochet project, done over the course of a few days. I used Wayuki's
Linguine dollydolls pattern
, with some customization of my own. Cheesy

She turned out a lot bigger than I thought she would be!

Her hair is supposed to be a mohawk, although it curls slightly and is lopsided (it gives her character lol).

Details of face!

Thanks so much for looking, I am currently crocheting something else! Let me know what you think. Smiley

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / It's been a while! Recent ATCs (MANY PICTURES!) on: August 09, 2012 06:21:13 AM
Hi everyone! I have been super busy with work, so I haven't really had the time to be on Craftster. Sad I've mostly been trading on other websites, and my ATC addiction has grown out of control!!

Let's take a look at some of my favorite ATCs I have done recently. I will spare you from seeing every single one! XD

"Mod Geisha"

"Horn Girl" (Gee wiz am I the one with amazing titles or what?!)

"Falling Angel"

"Odd One"

"Creepy"

"Pretty Far Gone"

"Damp"

And finally, my most favorite...

"Pinky"

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoyed my art. <3 IF you want to see any more of my art, feel free to check out my website!

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Art Doll on: May 21, 2012 02:12:16 PM
I have recently been into paper dolls. Smiley

Here's one I made today!

I used this template to make her, and added some details. She's about 12 in. tall, and inspired by my original character, Crimson. Smiley

I didn't have any other way to "joint" her limbs together, so I just used thread. I'm hoping to buy some in the near future, I think they are called "brads" or something?

I hope everyone likes her! In the future, I am hoping to start up a paper doll swap. Let me know what you think. Cheesy
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Paper Art Dolls Swap? on: May 18, 2012 06:42:09 AM
If this has already been done, please let me know. Smiley

A while ago, I stumbled upon this website: http://www.theenchantedgallery.com/paperdolls.html along with random other places that makes paper dolls into an art form. After playing around with it, I really enjoyed making templates, then decorating them!

This seems like a great idea for a swap. Not only could we begin collecting them like ATCs, but they can fit inside a regular envelope.

Would anyone be interested in this? I have never organized before, but with help I would love to. Let me know your thoughts!
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Am I the only one that can't draw men?!?! on: March 13, 2012 09:38:57 PM
As I look through my artwork, I notice I can only draw women, animals, and some children. I want to have a wide variety in my artwork, and because I love drawing portraits, that leaves only women for me to draw because I cannot draw the opposite gender! When I do try to draw guys, it looks stupid and I give up.

Does anyone else have this issue? How can I get past it? Maybe you can't draw women, but you can draw men; if so, why is that?

Thanks for reading!
6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Two New Works on: March 06, 2012 01:37:52 PM
I am partaking in an art demonstration on the 25th, and it was requested that I draw two pictures for a showcase. ^^

Here's what I came up with. I don't use references, so my pictures are never "realistic". Just feelings on my mind.

"Issues"
8x11 in.

Done in Pen and Ink, with a metallic marker.

"Die Hard Habits"
8x 11 in.

Done in watercolor, with a little bit of tempera.

I will be making more pictures for my display table, so stay tuned for those as well! Thanks for looking, everybody. Smiley
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Woman's Silhouette Embroidery on: January 17, 2012 10:44:17 AM
Hello everyone, I am new to this part of town. Smiley

I have been marveling at some of the amazing embroidery everyone does on here, so I thought I needed to take a shot at it. Though it may not be good, I learned so much from this piece! My Satin stitches look bad, I know. ^^; Here is the reference picture I used for it: http://t2.ftcdn.net/jpg/00/27/81/99/400_F_27819981_YIZE4cDUj5n8dspnUUnrUA8sUBgVGBhe.jpg

I am going to sew it into a pillow for my mom, she loves me no matter how bad my crafting can be. xD

Here's some of the details!

Thanks for looking- comments and criticism welcome!
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My December 2011 ATCs on: January 04, 2012 04:54:17 PM
After a long and stressful month, I am ready to begin the new year! Here's hoping I draw more than ever. ^^

These are some of the ATCs I have drawn last month and recently.

This one I drew in the December ATC swap. First time ever joining in a swap, and I can't wait to do it again! It was done in markers, colored pencil, and I carefully cut out a border to go along with it.

I drew this one night when I wasn't feeling well. xD It looks scary, but believe me I felt loads better after finishing it.

I painted this the other night, and hated it. Then I worked on it some more, and I love how it turned out!

Finally, my most recent work. I finished this today while procrastinating on some schoolwork ( I got it ALL done!). It's for an alphabet theme I am working on, and hopefully I will get more letters finished in the future. I wrote out the list, now I just need to muster up the motivation to work on it...

Also, I am planning on trading prints of my pictures! They will be on canvas style paper, and any metallic/shiny parts will be colored in by hand. Just let me know if you ever want any of my previous work- I save all of my pictures. ^^

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my work! <3
9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / How do YOU make patterns? on: December 20, 2011 08:23:20 PM
I have recently been enjoying the world of crochet (specifically amigurumi), and it really inspired me to dive into the process of pattern making.

With the research I have acquired, I think I have some confidence under my belt, but not enough to really do it. xD

I am interested, does anyone have suggestions or useful information they would like to share about the process of pattern making for an amigurumi? I would love to hear any input at all. c:

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Ganguro ATC on: December 01, 2011 10:36:08 PM
Today I found a WIP, and after an hour of coloring, this is what I came up with. It's up for trade if anyone wants it! Cheesy

I like the Ganguro style, too bad I hate being tan! x3
