1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Elastic Thread on: October 10, 2010 02:27:07 PM
Does anyone have any hints or tips for sewing with elastic thread?  I find that every now and again when I am sewing with it I get puckering, like this:

I have tried rewinding the thread around the bobbin a bit tighter, and sometimes this works, other times it does not.  Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to fix it?

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Infant Petticoat Romper on: September 07, 2010 05:37:20 AM
Hi There!
I have had a friend ask me if I could make them an infant petticoat romper, and I am having a super hard time finding a pattern....
Has anyone ever made one before?  Any tips or advice you could offer?

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Antique Singer Treadle on: July 25, 2010 08:38:02 AM
I just recently got a singer v-series class 15K treadle machine.  It came with a whole bunch of bobbins, bobin cases, and other accessories which are a bit dirty.  as is the machine.  I would like to clean all of it.
I was thinking of using finishing wool on all of the accessories, but for the machine itself I am not sure...
has anyone ever cleaned 100 years of dirt and grime off an old sewing machine?  any tips or advice?  I dont want to damage the finish on the machine.
