1  Re: Post Secret swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by professor_ping on: August 15, 2005 01:12:57 PM
ARG!  FINALLY!
Sorry I disappeared for so long guys.  there was something wrong with my account where I couldn't log on on any computer, even ones without cookie records of the old site, and stuff.  Hopefully it won't happen any more but if i disappear for a long time again, that's what went on.

Ok.

So here are the two post cards i received for July:
1.

It reads "I hate her hair, I still hack into her email account, she is a fake liar, and i hope she doesn't come back to school" in a cross shape on a white card.

2.

It reads "You'll always be the BIG one, Are you peckish?, It's never been my body size, my dad's the only reason I feel fat, Still Hungry!, Stop scoffing or you'll get fat." over a collage of celebrities flipping the bird (one caption reads "Ledger salute" over a pic of Heath Ledger, funny) and words I can't quite make out (one may be underdressed?  one, myself?)

This is the card I received for August:

It is a beautiful water color painting of a sofa with the words "Sometimes I don't know if I continue sharing an apartment iwth my boyfriend because I love him or because I'm too lazy to move." written in black ink.

Thanks so much to everyone who sent to me, and I am TERRIBLY sorry it took this long for your card to be posted.  I will try my best to see that it doesn't happen again.
Can't wait for next month!

This is the post card I received for June:
(My boyfriend scanned it, so I'm sorry if it's too big a picture or blurry or anything.)

I don't know that I can react to that.  I could try to be encouraging, but I'm sure this person has hear all the "you can do it" they can bear.  All I can say is that I hope they find their happiness in some way, and I hope they do it through will since that will make them a stronger person for the rest of their life.

3  Old Printer. in What the heck can I do with THIS? by professor_ping on: May 31, 2005 09:22:52 AM
So my printer broke a few weeks ago.  And it's beyond repair.  (But heck, I got a good five or six years out of it, which is pretty good!)  I was going to donate it, but they won't take it, and I feel bad to throw it out.  It's not old enough to keep around for kitsch value, and I can't figure how to make a planter out of it.  Here's a picture of it:

and the inside:

I figured I could disect it and make all the chips and cogs and whatnot into.... something....  but I can't figure what.  I know there must be some good stuff hiding in there somewhere!
Any and all ideas welcome, even if the suggestion is just to toss the thing.

4  Re: Flip Flop Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by professor_ping on: May 26, 2005 01:10:38 PM
Ok, here are my flops from acesulfamek.  Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures of the flops I sent out, and my recipient's computer is down.   Cry
But check out the wild confetti-flops I got:

And I noticed no one is posting a picture of their flip-flops on their feet, so I'll be brave:

YESSSSS!
I finally got my package!  (stupid apartment office holding it hostage... hmph.)
Anyway, it is FANTASTIC!
Here's what aprilkiss sent me:
A metal planter with podged pictures of robots (and a pack of soil and bulbs for growing fresia):

An awesome mug with etched robots all over it (sorry if the pic's not too good...):

and the piece de resistance, a beaded robot t-shirt!:

Aprilkiss, you are AWESOME!  And you must be psychic, cause somehow you knew I love gardening, which I don't think I told you and I'm coffee/tea addicted, so the mug's awesome, and the t-shirt... well, I'm a college kid, so that's self-explanatory.
But on top of all that she sent me a greeting card with a picture of french military medics (women) knitting.  Not only am I a knitter, but I'm a francophile and a French minor in school.
I'm tellin' you guys, she's either stalking me or psychic.... It's weird. Wink

Thank you SO much aprilkiss for the package,
and thank you jennybean for making this all happen!!!
