1  Re: *Report Questionable Ads Here* in Craftster Itself by kunoni on: July 04, 2011 12:12:43 PM
no idea if this is on purpose, but the size and fitting of the ad just seemed kind of odd. Actually, it didn't seem like an ad at all because all it said was "DELL" with nothing beside it (but when I clicked on it it brought me to another site, so it IS an ad.)

and P.S.- the Meow Mix ad makes me giggle every time I see it.

2  Re: Take swaps out of "hot new projects" in Suggest New Boards and New Features by kunoni on: January 01, 2011 04:42:11 PM
i agree with the above comments. Or maybe this:

This is the image before:
Code:
[img]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5010/5314266106_deb71075b2_m.jpg[/img]

and the result would be this:

this would be the after:
Code:
[swap][img]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5006/5313685645_c2eba28fe7_m.jpg[/img][/swap]

and the final image would be this:

Probably won't work, just a crazy idea I had.

3  Re: 2011 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by kunoni on: December 28, 2010 12:39:15 PM
That'll work, though It might be best to also add them to the first page at the beginning of each month in case the thread moves along fast and the post gets lost.

here's Harry the de-stashing monster. He's being hypnotized to destash. I made him from scratch in the computer to be our de-stashing mascot. I have another version of him done that I'll post in a few weeks.

you WILL bust that stash...

4  Re: Ideas to spruce up my plain wedding dress, please! Photo heavy-ish in Weddings and Bridal Showers by kunoni on: December 27, 2010 02:49:15 PM
here are some ideas I (badly) whipped up in Paint. By silver I meant charcoal gray...

This one's simple, but It would both match the color scheme, and it would make it look like you really match the bridesmaids' dresses, as if your dress is the more elegant version of theirs.

this one I messed up on, but you get the idea. 2-3 fabric flowers in charcoal gray/silver or any other color you want them. Then a series of three or four large-ish rhinestones in the same color, dangling off the last flower. The problem with this is that it requires a lot of patience because if the placement is a bit off, It could look to kitschy or grandma-like.

Hope I helped...

Some post the project in it's own thread, but add a thumbnail and a link on their list, and copy just the part that you did into a new post. For example, say I finish this:

12. a fire person

I would make it's thread. Then on my list I would go:

1. a green blob
2. a green blob
3. a green blob
4. a green blob
5. a green blob
6. a green blob
7. a green blob
8. a green blob
9. a green blob
10. a green blob
11. a green blob
12. a fire person  thread is here
13. a green blob
14. a green blob
15. a green blob
16. a green blob
(etc)

and in a new reply to this thread I would go:

10. a green blob
11. a green blob
12.- a fire person  thread is here
13. a green blob

Hope I helped.

6  should I continue? in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by kunoni on: December 08, 2010 11:17:19 AM
My brother's birthday is coming up, so I decided to make him an Iron-man Paper-piece, because he likes Iron-man, but now I'm not so sure it's going well.
Iron-man's armor has so many pieces, I'm afraid that it looks like a big gray blob (I am making the silver suit).
So sorry for the poopy pictures, I can't find any sort of camera, so I used the web cam.

7  peeking mama- mama in flowers? -loaded with images in CHALLENGE 55 ENTRIES by kunoni on: October 04, 2010 05:52:38 PM
so... My entry's a peeking mama. What is it, you ask?
well in all her craftiness, mama sure loves playing a good old game of craft hide-and-go-seek (just made that up Tongue)
Here she is, hiding in a black hole. Her hands are peeking out, as she makes sure you're not there.
...

mama is 100% paper excluding hands., she is fully pixelated, out of HUNDREDS of punched flowers, true to her gardening mind. I used a flower punch. She is made out of card stock, and poster board for the white background. I did not cut the shapes of details out, and added flowers to make it pixel-like, But I built her one by one. This took sooo long, as my hands would get sore, for card stock is thick. Stupid me used photo shop to pixellate, which gave me way more pixels than needed, and I followed that and glued everything on, and only halfway I saw you could use paint to produce an image with bigger pixels, but the picture is still clear. my original plan was to do a life size mama, but I soon realized it was crazy. She's a bit square, only because my posterboard wasn't wide enough. She is all flowers, and her hands are plush. yes, the size of the hole compared to the head is disproportionate, but who cares?
>>She is about the size of two normal human heads together. Each flower is about 1 cm in size.

she is a ceiling hanging, so she is upside down.
for the photos she is hanging to my desk, so I could provide better images.

here's my idea sketch-y thing.:

I just don't want to to look like a big sack or baggy pajamas,
but don't want to do a dress because I don't wear dresses.

9  Re: Cake-in-cup is not cupcake ;) recipe with photos in Dessert by kunoni on: September 25, 2010 04:10:40 PM
ta-da!
I made it. i used extra sugar because our cocoa powder that I found (I later found a sweet one) was grossly unsweetened and bitter. I added a bit of strawberry extract to add a good scent, And since I have HUGE eggs, I used a bit less then half and egg, scrambling it in a separate bowl, then pouring in, also a microwaved it a bit less because I like moist cake. Sorry I forked through it before the picture, I was checking to see if it was fully baked.
YUM!
(bad web cam picture Tongue)
