1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: book club swap? on: July 12, 2013 07:45:54 PM
I really like this idea! I'm a big book worm and would love to see this swap happen. I like #2 as well, although sending the book itself can be pricey due to their weight sometimes, and I just can't get into e-readers. Nothing against them, they're just not for me. Moving on, I'd definitely be in for this swap. I'll be keeping an eye out for this!

So I was able to get to the Post office today and pick up the package hippycannibal sent me!
And it is AWESOME.
Even the box was cool, it had lyrics to "Part of your world" on the side and quotes from Disney characters with a who's who on the bottom

She sent me a super cute Kuzco mug, which with my constant coffee intake will definitely get some good use.

And then this lovely set of Hercules Titans shot glasses, which as I'm turning 21 this year, is perfect.

And the crowing glory, this AMAZING painting of the Little Mermaid poster. It's beautiful and going up asap!

As well as this cool lil silver vase, which I think I might make a little Disney inspired topiary for, as well as this cute tomato fabric that was protecting the painting.

Thank you hippycannibal!

I recently saw Mulan again after watching Peter Pan and Cinderella, as they were having a Disney mini marathon on ABC Family where I live. So that was awesome. I totally forgot how much I love Mulan. The movie overall, the art, the music. Just asdfghjkl;, loved it. Kept singing the songs all day.

As for progress I'm almost done, just had a miss-hap with some ____ So I had to run out and try a different brand, and repurchase my supplies for that one, but no biggie.  I'll be going away this weekend so I'm trying to finish up a bit, so that nothing is really left for last minute. Smiley

I'd like to think I'm as passionate, and perhaps quirky, as Rapunzel with maybe some of the clumsiness and outspoken-ness of Mulan. P.s. Excited to finish up my items so I can send out and start seeing what everyone made!

I think we can all agree Kronk is awesome, but aside from him (and I do love him, I was so glad they made a Kronk's new groove, it was too cute. ) I also love Genie or Rajah. Or the Magic carpet, but I didn't think he/she/it? would count. Honestly, all the "sidekicks" in Aladdin were great. Who wouldn't want a Genie, Tiger, or flying carpet as a bestie?

So I'm doing both this swap and the Little Visitor rd 17 which is where you swap little stuffed animals with a partner for a few months and give them a tour of where you live, complete with photos, gifts, etc. It's a ton of fun.

Well, last Thursday, May 16th was my birthday and I spent it at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. I took my Little Visitor (a pineapple named Anana) with me and took a bunch of photos of him at the park. Thought some of you guys might get a kick out of it: http://anana-visits-florida.blogspot.com/2013/05/birthday-at-magic-kingdom.html
What better place to be a princess ay? I totally can't believe I forgot to type this in the last post ( I swear I thought I had already added it!) but happy birthday! Hope you and your fiance had a great birthday day at Disney!

That is too cute. I wish I'd seen that swap, I'm all about goofing off with plushies! I like to collect cute or quirky ones.  Anana seems to be having a blast!
My buddies thus far, that grey fluff is the head of my giant hippo. :p :

It's Friday! Our check-in question for this week...

Who is the Baddest Disney Baddie? (Or, who is your favorite Disney villain?)

My favorite villain would have to be Yzma (but only because of the Yzma/Kronk partnership - she's definitely not the baddest baddie of them all I'd give that title to Maleficent).

Now it's your turn!

ETA: If we don't hear from you in the thread, expect a pm from me. Smiley
I don't know about Maleficent. I think considering everyone knew she was powerful and evil they should've known that inviting everyone BUT her would come with a consequence. I mean how would you feel if everyone you knew got invited to an awesome party, except you? It just seems to me that it would've been probably more stressful, but safer, to just invite her, than not to you know?
I think the worst, as far as actual morality goes, is probably Frollo. I mean, he randomly kills gypsies, kills Quasimodo's mom, tries to kill him, and then raises him in seclusion while making sure he thinks that he's unwanted, hideous, and unlovable.  As if that's not bad enough he then basically tells Esmerelda "Ay Bih! Get wit me or diiieeee!!!11!!" and then tries to kill her, and practically everyone else, when she refuses. So I'd have to say he's the worst.

But my favorite is probably Gaston. He's just so obnoxious, and stereotypically macho, that it cracks me up. I love him to bits. Especially his song, I use it as a ringtone for my boyfriend.

"For there's no one as burly and brawny
As you see I've got biceps to spare
Not a bit of him's scraggly or scrawny
That's right!
And every last inch of me's covered with hair!"

Sorry this is so long btw, I just got carried away.
10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Soot Sprite from My Neighbor Totoro on: May 12, 2013 10:21:26 PM
Aah, I need these! They're super cute, My Neighbor Totoro is one of my favorite movies. When I see these it gives me the urge to rewatch all the Ghibli Studio movies. These rock, great job!
