23  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Altered Puzzle Pieces R6 : send by August 20 on: July 19, 2012 11:45:41 AM
I think I'm going to go for the 48 piece one.  Today, most likely.

Now, I've seen lots of 'lenticular' puzzles.  The ones that I saw that were 48 pieces were lenticular.  I think that means after you put it together you can tilt it and it shows a different image?  In that case, it has that plastic coating....  Is this something I should avoid, since they will be altered anyway?  I don't think it would matter, but I might as well throw the question out there since I barely have any idea of what I'm doing.

Loving the themes I've seen from my partners.  I've been doing constant brainstorming.

Thanks for the tip Smmarrt!  I've got a bin all set out patiently waiting for theme-like inspiration and future arriving puzzle pieces.

Excited about all my partners!  Hey partners!

and ... yikes. I don't even have a puzzle yet.  I saw a few last night, but I'm not sure which I should get.  Too bad most of the puzzles don't have a sample piece shown on the box.  I'd like to get a 48 piece, but I'm concerned the pieces will be too small for anyone to go too crazy altering.

And if anyone has any tips, I say throw 'em up here.  I'm not the only first timer, I'm sure there's a few more.  And I like hearing about someone else's method of doing things.

Is there a certain time you are accepting signups?  Trying to fill out a questionnaire, but don't think I will finish til later.

If I get to join, this will be my first time doing an altered puzzle.  Looks like fun!
26  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Inchies Swap Round 3 - Discussion and Gallery on: July 17, 2012 10:24:07 AM
Love all the new inchies!  The black and white inchies continue to amaze me.  I love color, but I didn't think I'd be so impressed and inspired by so much... non color.  The fairies!  Wow they are really neat, Quasior.  I don't think I could have came up with 8 different ones that are all so different and striking individually.

Oh my goodness, Nilmerg.  That's a ton of inchies!  I bet you feel like a finely tuned inchie machine.  I love seeing them all together.  You made enough of them just.. this past month, to make a whole inchie mural.  I wish I would have gotten to contribute to the b&w, but whenever it is done, I'm excited to see it together.
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Felt Badge Round 2 Gallery!! (Send Out July 9) on: July 13, 2012 12:26:36 PM
A few days ago I got two lovely badges from Luvebuggy99.

First, the Cat in the Hat- Hat!  The colors are spot on, even in the background.  I really like the red and white decorative stitching framing it.  I was so excited to get a Dr.  Suess badge!

And the next is the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland.  I love the cute red mushroom he's sitting on and all the beading.  My mom (I show her all my art stuff, made and received) was especially fond of this one.
Thanks so much Luvebuggy!   Cheesy
So now, besides admiring everything rolling into the gallery, this swap will be done for me.   Cry  I will be eagerly awaiting another round, whenever it happens!
28  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: TUTORIAL: Mini-Book Bookmark (image heavy!) on: July 11, 2012 10:05:07 AM
Its so great you made a tutorial.  Especially since you have a way of deconstructing and making the process look,... well... possible!  I have a mini book bookmark already that I love, (thank you! Wink) but I'm pinning this right away.  For future mini bookmaking or just because there's probably lots of people on pinterest that would love to make their own little book or little book bookmark.  Thanks for "tutorializing"!
29  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Felt Badge Round 2 Gallery!! (Send Out July 9) on: July 09, 2012 08:26:50 AM
As if this gallery isn't great enough already, I have some amazing badges to add that I got from Interrobam...
One of my (many) themes is animals doing human-like things.  I didn't imagine someone would get an idea for a badge from that, but she did, and you can tell it is a creation of her own imagination.  Its is so detailed!

A white collar peacock!  Can you believe all the details she managed to fit in such a tiny space?  All the tail feathers are perfectly plumed out as he prepares to tackle the day.  He is wearing a tie, for goodness sake.   Cheesy  Note the stress toy and the coffee cup that says 'TIIF' for Thank Isis its Friday.  All the keys on the keyboard,.. wow.

And with this badge, she managed to felt-ify my cat, Jasmine, without even seeing a picture.  Just the two descriptive words, fat and fluffy, and she managed to capture everything, and her attitude, too.

And here's one last pic of the whole felt haul, along with the mermaid note card that Interrobam drew.  Had to throw that in there, because that is something I will surely keep and tack up somewhere.
Thanks so much, I loved it all Emily.  I hope when my badges make it there you like them half as much as I like these.

30  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Felt Badge Swap Round 2!! (SU CLOSED, SO July 9) on: July 02, 2012 01:40:31 PM
I didn't think I'd be sending so late in the game, but I most likely will be sending on sendouts.  I came back to the first badge I had trouble with and I've decided to ditch the idea and try another.  Very happy with the other badge for the same partner (since the themes were a little challenging to me... I didn't know much about them.)  The next partner is basically done except for cutting the  backs and stitching them on.

Aaaaand I got 2 badges from one partner.  They are really super.  Can't wait to get a minute, get a good pic and show them off!
