1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: OIS4 - inchies, rinchies and twinchies edition - discussion and gallery on: November 16, 2012 02:07:33 PM
I got my twinchies (and inchie, rinchie extras) from meowari!

All of these have a lovely sparkle on them somewhere.  It barely shows in the picture.  The peace one is so glittery it dazzled me when I opened it on my porch in the sunlight.  The felt kitty is perfect,...  grey goes so well with a red glitterized background.  The squirrel,... so cute.  The wings, are they... twirly birds?  Helicopters?  From... maple trees, I think?  (I'm sure there is a more technical term, but I used the terminology I used as a kid!)  They are also glittery, and the squirrel is drawn and cut out to go on the painted sky background.  Just as the mermaid tails (hanging on an underwater clothesline!) are cut out and placed in the water scene.  Each of these is really detailed.  I love 'em, and the time you spent perfecting these, meowari.  Thanks a bunch.

OH, and I totally forgot...  The tail of the cat is movable.  It swings all around.   Wink

Hi, I'm Kim, from Louisiana.  I don't mind artful nudity or a bit of gore, but my style is mostly vibrant, whimsical, bright, colorful, modern, happy stuff.  Bordering on cute, and a little bit offbeat sounds great to me!  I like dimensional elements, but I do plan on framing, so nothing too thick would be great as far as how you make mine, please.  Big buttons would be about as thick as I would prefer.  I'd rather nothing political, please.
A combination of my themes is great.  If you would like to do 1 of 8 different ones, just claim me for the one that sparks your interest initially.  Translate my themes however you would like.  (OH, and I totally do agree with the 'handdrawn over stickers' thoughts...)  You can make me any of the three choices, but I will most likely make a rinchie into an inchie anyway.  Have fun, however you do it.   Smiley

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Altered Puzzle Pieces R6 on: August 29, 2012 09:07:52 PM
I have received lots of pieces recently.  I figured they would all be pouring in at the same time so I held off on posting pictures, and the last 3 sets pretty much arrived around the same time.  However, I have been holding on to Alexampersandra's for over a week now.  Sorry for the holdup.   Wink
From Alexampersandra:

The ROYGBV piece is really clever.  The other has green gems and they are so reflective on the silver background.  Love them!
Next I have pieces from mlookyloo1:

Cute rainbow piece, and I couldn't have thought of a better orange than candy corn.
Next, these are from seeuudee:

I love, love, love the rainbow piece.  It will most likely get the award for shiniest piece of the whole puzzle.  The blue, of course, is lovely too.
Next I have pieces from llisaredd.  We agreed to swap 6 pieces in the beginning.  Since our theme was so similar, I was excited I could do a red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple for her, and she did 3 rainbow pieces and 3 assigned color pieces for me.  Here's the rainbow ones....

She used such different things making each piece and they are so creative.  I'll still be altering lots of my own puzzle, and I'm really impressed that not one piece I got was something I had jotted down to do myself.
And here's the purple, green, and red llisaredd did...

The red tootsie roll piece is great! The purple and green are both fuzzy, and the frog piece is so cute too.  All of these pieces were all so perfectly cut out and placed too.  Thanks for altering 6 for me, Lisa.

Thanks, everyone who sent me my most recent pieces.  I'm loving them all!

Now, I have to alter 24 pieces myself.  As soon as this hurricane/tropical storm moves along and isn't a threat to my immediate area, I'm planning on jumping right into altering the rest of my puzzle.  I couldn't resist putting together what I have so far,... and I'm loving it.

Those are from me!   Wink

I received 2 awesome pieces from sarahj2001 for my Quotes puzzle:

Love the graffiti lettering and the little "Sock it to me" s in the tabs.

And Neil Young:

The art work on this piece is just so charming.

Thanks Sarah!

Those inchies are wonderful!

Yay, I'm glad they arrived safely!  For some reason (since there were 6, probably) I was worried those would be the pieces to get lost in the postal system.  I have so little faith in the mail!

I've gotten more pieces done but I still have 3 more partners I'm not ready to send to quite yet.  They'll be touched up this weekend and out the door Monday.   Smiley

Here's the latest pieces I have recieved.  These are from Luvebuggy99

Love the tie-dye look of the rainbow one.  And they are both so bright and fit their color schemes so well.

These pieces are from KriSmith

Yellow submarine, complete with music!  The slight distress look of these is really interesting.  (And would you mind me asking, Kris, what you used to seal these with?  I like the finish, but don't think its anything I've used before.)

Thank you both!  Smiley

These new pieces are really neat.  Flamingos, fossilized mermaids, the harry potter pieces are all turning out so nicely....
And I really love the bubble wrap effect.

I received from KriSmith and Luvebuggy99 over the weekend.  I will upload pics tomorrow of my new fab pieces.   Smiley

Mmmm fonts. That's a nice theme. Might have to borrow that idea.

Kimchery, sorry about the glossy glare, I am still learning how to use mod podge. I figured I should really start using it instead of staying with the elmers glue and water I have stuck with since childhood. The mod podge I got said matte. Mod podge and I have a difference of opinion on that....

Oh, there's nothing wrong with being glossy.  And your palette piece is great exactly the way it is.  I should have thought to take 2 pics since one piece has no finish and one does...

And mod podge is great,... just hard to photograph sometimes.  I don't think it matters how much, what kind or how you apply it, it always seems to reflect a bit.

I received my pieces from kimchery! My theme is fonts/typography/letters:

I love them so much! I can't wait to get the rest back and put everything together!

Sorry, I can't take credit for those, I haven't sent yours out quite yet...   Wink

Braille, though, is a really neat idea!
