Here's my fabulous package from our organizer Xandrigirly... First some shimmery roll up beads. I like all the different textures and colors she used.
And some rainbow-y bottlecap earrings that are really cool
This necklace that pictured so dark for some reason. I really like the color. The stone in the middle fell out, even though everything was wrapped well. Some postal worker probably jumped up and down on the package or something, judging the shape of most of the boxes I get. I'm pretty sure that's how that was supposed to go, since they wrapped together.
Then there was the big bag of all kinds of funky buttons. I don't know which I like best. The rainbow flowers are my favorite. No,... the strawberries! The flower shapes, maybe. Ooooh, what about the pink textured cherry blossom? They are all really cool.
And then the barrettes. As soon as I unwrapped these, my daughter walked up and said, 'oooh look, this ones for me, and this one's for you!' I told her she could borrow it... She's been grabbing up quite a few of my swap things lately... But she treats everything very carefully and has never broken anything I've made her either. So, the shimmery leaves are 'mine', and that's okay cause that barrettes is beautiful, too.
So far she's asked to wear the rainbow hearts an awful lot. So, she might have just stolen it permanently. She wore it to school this week, and yesterday made sure she got dressed into a rainbow tank dress for the party we were going to, and she asked to wear it again. And made me take a picture so she could see what it looks like. So, there's that shot right here...
Thanks for everything Xandrigirly, and for organizing. Hope there's another polymer clay swap next year!
Now that I got all my hearts, I'm ready to show them off altogether. Even though I don't have a jar for them yet. I love how everyone's hearts have been so different. I was having issues with my camera a couple weeks ago, so I think Lesliehappyheart already posted a pic of the hearts she sent me, but I'm showing them again cause they were so cute. And the little book was a great useful idea to send as an extra.
I love them all, but the little purple and blue one (shown so dark in the pic) may be my favorite.
These are from xxmyjelloxx
She said the crochet heart was her first attempt at crochet. Well, wow. I know how to crochet a bit, and have even made a few baby blankets, but the idea of reducing scared me away from even trying to crochet a heart. The reddish heart was a crayon, and although I did like it, I passed it along to my daughter, who was so happy to have gotten something in the mail for her. She just happened by the computer and saw the picture and said 'Hey, there's my heart crayon!'
These are from kristl:
The heart stamp was a really good idea, I'll be be using that! And I love the red beaded wire heart.
These are from Craftineer:
They are all really different and colorful but I think I like the tie dyed heart the most. Gotta love the tie dye.
And these I got from kartiana:
The patchwork heart I thought was really unusual, and I love the colors. And I had to look pretty close for it in the picture, because its so dainty, but in the middle is a coppery wire heart with little paddle dangles in the middle. Love it. She also sent some pieces of scrapbook paper that are all nicely patterned. Thank you all my partners, loved all the hearts!
After much craziness tonight with my newly de-virused computer, I had lots of trouble uploading pics. After describing this trouble to GatorWrangler, she suggested something that made the whole process much easier (oh, how I wish I had known before!) Anyhoo..... Here are the resin pendants.
They are just cast so far. I still have to polish,... well, most of them that are pictured, and drill. The tatted flower bookmarks are like the one to the right in this picture.
I could do them in any of the colors listed below, and there will be a similar polymer clay bead at the tail. Colors: Natural, Red, Hunter Green, Sage Green, Royal Blue, Deep Purple, Peach, Bubble Gum Pink, Black, Nature Multi, Pastel Multi, Rainbow, Blue/White Multi, and Monet Multi (pictured)
After a few bouts with my camera, and being SICK (yuck), I finally have pictures of the most awesome tiny book I got from nicoleburdsall!
No, this isn't the tiny book, but the tiny book was inside of it. And I do have to admit for a whole afternoon I thought this was the tiny book, and I just didn't know how to open it. I do love the Alice theme it has going on! When my husband got home, he asked if that was my tiny book, and I told him yes, and if he thought he could get it open. There just had to be some trick to it, before I broke it. 2 seconds later, click, its open, and there is a tiny, tiny book. Yes, I felt pretty duh then. This is somewhat of a compilation of my themes. I LOVE the fact that it is all rainbow-y. Front cover:
red (the holographic paper, so cool)
orange (and quite possibly my favorite color theme. The little flower coming from the gun,.... such a nice touch!)
yellow (flower power! Though I'm not sure why this pic turned out kind of fuzzy! )
green (peace - it's more than just a lack of violence. Loving the sparkly green paper/paint!)
blue (Start a revolution)
purple (We are one. One world. One life. Great way to tie it up... with purple and such an ideal expression.
The back (Ties in with the lovely box it was sent in, and has the iridescent finish to it.)
I really like this little hinge that was used to help bind. It is so perfect for little inchie books. I didn't know exactly what I would do with an inchie book, but with the hinge, I just might make this into a little necklace to show it off. What a great idea, and I'm so interested to know where you would find those. I've never seen them before! Thanks so much for the awesome tiny book exchange, Nicole, I loved making your book, and I was just as excited to get this one in return!
Here are my goodies from my awesome lunch with Tero. :0)
She told me she was bringing me a surprise, but look at the lovely presentation. If I could have jumped up and down without looking like a fool, I would have. I had already swooned over the bookmark made by jennie, which I LOVED, but I have to admit I love this one more. Because its rainbows, and because its mine. Then opening the box:
Oh my gosh, its a whole bunch of little surprises everywhere! From the animal kingdom...
Yes, mermaids count there too. See the little hedgehog? No, probably not. Its the bead in the middle, the smallest. The little face, is that not the coolest?
All the charms... so many little details.....
Clasps, findings and other metal doodads. I LOVE that copper kitty clasp!
A view of some of my favorites. So many things are just so unusual... The beads on the left are rose and jasmine beads from Jerusalem. They work sort of the same way wearing pearls does, except by smell. I am going to be making something special with them soon. And of course the beetles' wings, which I've never seen. (No beetles were harmed in the process of this swap... )
A closer look at the rest of the beads. So many interesting bits, my mind goes reeling with ideas. I feel so lucky I had a partner I got to meet with. All swaps should be as cool as swap, shop and lunch! I'm sure not everyone here has ever been close enough to meet with a partner, but this is Louisiana, it could happen to you! I was so surprised to see that Tero lived so close that I read over the city in her questionnaire a bunch of times before putting 2 and 2 together. I had so much fun, Tero! Thanks so much! I so look forward to craft or lunch again whenever it happens! And thank you Jennie for organizing and pairing me with 2 lovely partners.
Here is my overdue-for-pictures haul from Missing Willow. Soup!:
Here are the soup ingredients. Delish!
I especially like the big rainbow egg bead to the right, and the magnetic, which sculpted themselves coming out of the bag. Oh, and the big stone leaves are pretty and I can't wait to use them.
Here are some clasps, caps, findings and other beautiful stranded beads that were left out of the soup. I love the top strand,.... I look for beads like that where ever I go. And the crafted item.....
A necklace of muppets, with my two favorite muppets framing the others. Thank you! That is a product of good stalking! Here is a picture of everything together (minus the muppets, which I had thrown over my head like a headband at this point!)
Thank you Missing Willow, I had much fun digging and sorting!
I got my lovely items from esmecraftin and onecrazymom.
The bag from esmecraftin is colorful and so useful to boot.
Very roomy inside, and I love the red lining on the pockets. Thank you so much esmecraftin, I love this bag! And here is the bird's nest pendant and pebble charm from onecrazymom.
I love the butterfly. I might make it into something else besides a necklace. Might be something I want to see all the time and not be limited to taking off and putting on. Ideas, ideas.... Working with wire is something I've never tried, so I was excited to get these. The other side:
Here is what I got in the mail from nilmerg, super fast from Australia.
I love this cushion cover, and my daughter thought she was so special... she has never gotten a swap item before. She asked if it was for me, and when I said no, its for you!, She said "Oh YES, I looooove smurfs!" The fabric is really thick and the smurf scenes are really fun. The other side:
With Smurfette getting some flowers. And more smurfiness. So, you made my daughter's day, nilmerg, thank you!
I didn't get paired with aisy, but we did a little personal swap, and she sent me some licorice lip balm.
Its gold, and the perfect licorice aroma. I've already used it (more than once, having 'balmed' lips must be an addiction) and its a sweet licorice. Thanks so much aisy.
I've loved everything so far, can't wait til the other items in the mail make it here!
A birds playing blackjack twinchie for my animals doing people-like things theme. A lamp with fabric wings for 'things with wings' and a gold rush inchie to remind me of California. A crawfish rinchie dancing, which I love... I've done crawfish inchies before, and I was really excited to get one. The last rinchie was from my theme 'something about the decade you were born in'. Hers was the 80s,... the keytar, and you gotta love the neon background.
Thanks Linsey, I loved getting them! If you more skills with the camera, maybe you have a better pic. I went with the lesser evil of reflection. It was difficult to see anything in the other pics I had...
