31  Re: Sweat Shoppe Ornament Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kimchery on: January 10, 2012 01:26:54 PM
I got ornaments up until Christmas Eve, and they were so much fun to receive...  I started taking pics of these as they came in, but the last week of Christmas was so hectic they were just ceremoniously hung on the tree and we were back to the Christmas grind.  Now that I've had a minute, and snapped pics of the last few that came in, I figured it would be a good idea to post them, because this was probably the greatest most fun swap of the year for me!  Better late than never anyway!  We put our tree up late, but by then we already had 3 ornaments in, and my daughter made a big deal out of picking a perfect spot for all of them.  She really got a kick out of constantly getting new ornaments, so believe me, she raved over every one.  Very happy Christmas memories, here....
Starting with the lovely, sparkly crocheted snowflakes from hazelly....

and

Then came the awesome smelling star from pollyprissypants.  We hadn't unpacked the top of the tree yet, so my daughter had decided this ornament had to be at the very top.  After we found the the perching star, this one stayed right underneath it.   Cheesy

Then our playful penguin arrived, and wasn't feeling very playful anymore...  Sad

At the time I took the picture, I said I'd just patch him up before Christmas.  Then my daughter became impatient with me not looking for the glue gun.  So our penguin spent Christmas with just his head on the tree.  He got fixed when we packed up.  I'm sure when we unpack him next year, she will remember and I will get an earful about how terrible he felt last Christmas.  Heh heh.  He was definitely loved, headless and all.  Oh, I forgot to say, he was from GatorWrangler.

These 2, from kwiltykate, were such great pals, they had to hang together.  LOL.  Aren't they cute?

All the rest of the ornaments arrived pretty close to Christmas, so I didn't snap pics til I was taking the tree down.  They all did live on our tree through the holiday and were fawned over as they came in the mail!

From koalascout, a rainbow yarn octopus.  Lovin the googly eyes.  She also sent lots of edible extras, which were devoured in no time, and very appreciated.   Smiley

The most adorable knitted bear ornament, from Kitty_Anne.  Looking very at home with the rest of the toys.  (Let me take a moment to say please excuse the fact that not only was I just obviously taking the tree down on the 7th... but I still haven't put up the Christmas toys either...  darned dated pictures!)

The lovely knitted basket from Koreena.  Just as cute in person!

And the happy dangling snowman from mama24boyz.

I was sad when the last one came in the mail.  Thank you SO MUCH GatorWrangler, for hosting this swap.  I hope you do it again next year, and I hope I'm able to join again.  Loved every ornament we got, so thank you very much to all of you.  Its not every year I'm even IN the Christmas spirit, and I'm thankful that this year I was and that I got to be part of such a cool swap.

Sorry about the sideways pics....  They haven't been sideways in so long, and I'm not sure how to flip them..... the joys of learning a new camera...

I got some inchies from cloudsnapper way back on Christmas Eve.  My lateness in posting in them has nothing at all to do with how much I liked them, because I loved them all.  Getting them on Christmas Eve was like getting small paper Christmas presents.

My 'non-paper' inchies were are great colors, and all so precisely an inch.   Cheesy  And the cat inchies, all so cute!  She expressed concern hoping the cat butt wasn't too gross... but it is realistic, well drawn, and appreciated.  It seems to fit well on an inchie, so I had to laugh about that.

I got these inchies from Smmarrt just recently...

I love my state ones!  And the era ones are all perfectly 70's.  She sent me some scrapbook paper too that is so cute....

It would make perfect inchies just cut out.  Or maybe inchandahalfsies... ..   Grin

Thank you Smmarrt and cloudsnapper!

Two people I claimed have received and have been having camera issues, so I'll post what I sent to them.  First I sent some dinosaur inchies to c*lientje

I made some 'cute' ones, and a small set of silhouettes that are more realistic.  Dinosaurs were fun, surely.

These are what I sent to melmakespretty.

Matryoshka inchies are also on my inchie wish list, and I haven't done them before, so I had to give that a whirl.

Henna tattoos.  Also really fun!

And even though mel had a million great themes, I couldn't decide on the last 2, and I settled for trees, because I wanted to make 2 completely different 'tree' based inchies.  The right one is based on the Shel Silverstein book The Giving Tree.  Love that book.

I hope the 2 of you liked them!  I was excited to know my inchies traveled so far and wide.   Grin

I finally got some pictures up of all my goodies.  I think I am only waiting for one more thing.  But if I don't upload these today, I will be waiting til the new year.  Might as well show off now!
From angelxwing, a crochet rose.  This was the first to arrive.  Very cute!

From rylnn, a cute little owl ornament.  I took this pic when it first came, but it is on my tree right now.

From plaidpineapple, a sweet pinwheel headband.  (Trust me, she loves it, but she was intent on playing with moon dough she just got for her birthday. Messy!)

From hazelly, 2 beautiful crochet bookmarks.  I love how dainty they are.  The little holly berries were a great touch.  And the little crane!   Smiley

From ChevelleZombie - a sweet treat resin ring.  I love the scroll-ey ring blank that was used.  I really think I will be wearing this a bit more than I usually wear rings.  I had it in mind for a gift, but nah, I don't think so.   Cheesy

from GatorWrangler, a lovely photo necklace.  I love the picture, I wanted to wear it, but ever since I've had my tree up I've been imagining it as a small ornament.  Hmmm.

From lydiaharper, a paracord bracelet.  This is so cool, and now I wish it fit my husband.  I don't even want to show him, I think he will want one.  Too bad, but its an idea for next time if they can be made a bit bigger.

From gala_apples, a cool gradient necklace, that of course the post had to mess up.  I've been getting lots of broken things lately.  Its the holiday rush!  I'm pretty sure I can fix it once I'm not so busy, though.

And from Ruby Copperhead, a crochet bracelet that I just got that I love.  I put it on to model and its still on me as I type.

Thank you, everyone.  I love this swap.  And thanks for organizing, GatorWrangler.  (And the ornament one too...   Grin  )

Thanks for the compliments on the monsters, everyone.   Smiley

These are the italian inchies I got from suueedee.  All of them have a glossy part of them, which made them hard to photograph, but I tried to get the best pic possible without glare.  I looooove them.  Half places with map backgrounds, and the other half being food, with flag backgrounds.  Yum!

Thanks, suueedee, they're great!

These are the inchies I sent to pioneer9, that she received last week.

I claimed her for a combination, but I couldn't stop drawing monsters, so this is the end result.  Had lots of fun with them!

Here's the inchies I got from mini_mum....

They were for classic rock.  The yellow submarine is really cute, and she must have just guessed, but Piano Man is one of my favorite songs.  Thanks so much, mini_mum.   Cheesy

So I got a package from rainfallingonatinro of.  I was thinking 'inchies?'  cause it was pretty thick.  So I opened it and much to my surprise, my inchies came in their own container, an altered tin by rainfallingonatinro of.  Sweet!  This is the outside...

It even matches one of my themes!

The inside of the tin says "remember we all have wings".  And the inchies are a combo of my themes, and are very imaginative.  I love the raccoons having a conversation ("w'sup") and the cute cat and dog, and the cat with wings.  Some of the others are made with fabric, maybe ribbon, and have great texture.  Thank you very much, all of this was a wonderful surprise.   Grin

Here are my inchies from nilmerg!

She claimed me for inchies made primarily not out of paper, and sent me this set.  They have a little piece of every project she's worked on in the past few months, which was a pretty nifty idea.  I like the pieces with words, the bright ones, and all the parts that are deep blue.
Thanks nilmerg!

40  Re: Polymer Clay Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by kimchery on: November 20, 2011 10:18:15 AM
I uploaded pics of my package to Xandrigirly because she was having camera issues when she got it.  First some rainbow beads and a pendant.  I suspended some of the beads and letters in resin which I've been playing with lately.

More rainbow beads.  Because she likes rainbows, and I love making these swirly beads out of different colors.

These buttons and the next few things were replicated or based off of Xandrigirly's pinterest.  I really liked making them, and made myself a set too.

Pinterested earrings:

Based on a pinterested necklace, but that one wasn't made of polymer clay.

This bracelet I made to go with the cloud necklace, since its a moon and stars bracelet.  The moons, which didn't picture well have craters.  More beads I just love to make.

These are some little charms I 'stuffed' with clay because there didn't seem to be enough purple in the package.   Huh

And a purple steampunk barrette

There was a polymer clay cake charm and a few other beads and buttons I didn't take a pic of cause I was in a hurry when I sent, and there were just a few each of the beads and buttons.
I'm glad you liked everything Xandrigirly, and hope you find the beads and buttons useful making things in the future.  It was fun crafting for ya!
