Continued.... Here's the last 4 ornaments I received. I was concerned the message would never upload unless I cut my pictures in half...
Here's the darling little knitted bird from hazelly. I love the bright color. It is too cute, knitted ornaments have a special place in my heart.
From cinnamon teal, a ceramic snowflake ornament. Another that the picture can't possibly do justice. It's beautifully shiny-glazed, and I love the color.
I love this star from Ninaprettyballerina. If I knew how to make these, I would probably spend the rest of my craft time til Christmas making them in every color. But since I can't do that, and I don't have nearly the time, these fabrics are perfectly festive.
And here's my little felt gingerbread man from bec99. Adorable! The pink cheeks, the bow, the seed bead trim,... All those little details are awesome. This was, as usual, a totally cheerful and entertaining swap for me. I probably won't even be back around to swap til next year just for this again. Thank you everyone for the ornaments, they were perfect. And thank you GatorWrangler for hosting this. I'm so glad I decided to check into craftster on the last day of signups. This really helped me get pumped for the holidays. :0) I can't wait for the rest of my ornaments to arrive to their destinations...
I'm so excited, I got my last 2 ornaments today! I LOVE them all. Most of our family has birthdays the beginning of December, so we usually don't put up a tree and lights until after the 13th. So I'm showing my ornaments off now, and they'll remain in a small box on top of my entertainment center for a couple more weeks. Without further ado...
Here's a beaded wonderment bell from iSewCute. There was one of these on my tree growing up, but it got lost somewhere along the way, and I'm so happy to have another. It's more sparkly and prettier than I even remember.
Here's the snowman Snowglobe from GatorWrangler. It's so unique, and the iridescent glitter really makes it. I love the way it looks along with Christmas lights. :0)
A starfall ornament from goldfishpollywog. I was so excited to be able to have a rainbow ornament. It is lovely.
Here's the melted snowman ornament from JillHogan. Not that any of these pictures are perfect, but this is so much neater in person. And so much fun to play with! After getting everything inside, everyone had to have a turn.
Sorry if this pic is terrible.... I just happened on craftster today after a long hiatus, and I saw that sign ups for one of my favorite swaps was ending. Anyhow, I tried uploading a pic from my phone, and it seemed to work (one wish I was hoping craftster made possible at some point). I'm just not sure how it looks on a computer screen but I'll check that out tomorrow. If it is huge, squashed, upside down or not visible at all, I'll know in the morning, but I can definitely see it....
This is an example of a felt owl in b&w,... I've made them in other colors and can make them in pretty much any colors you would like... But this is the only pic I have. There will be some kind of Christmas button on the middle, but maybe not that same snowflake. I hope these are acceptable offerings with me joining at this late hour...
I got my twinchies (and inchie, rinchie extras) from meowari!
All of these have a lovely sparkle on them somewhere. It barely shows in the picture. The peace one is so glittery it dazzled me when I opened it on my porch in the sunlight. The felt kitty is perfect,... grey goes so well with a red glitterized background. The squirrel,... so cute. The wings, are they... twirly birds? Helicopters? From... maple trees, I think? (I'm sure there is a more technical term, but I used the terminology I used as a kid!) They are also glittery, and the squirrel is drawn and cut out to go on the painted sky background. Just as the mermaid tails (hanging on an underwater clothesline!) are cut out and placed in the water scene. Each of these is really detailed. I love 'em, and the time you spent perfecting these, meowari. Thanks a bunch.
OH, and I totally forgot... The tail of the cat is movable. It swings all around.
I have received lots of pieces recently. I figured they would all be pouring in at the same time so I held off on posting pictures, and the last 3 sets pretty much arrived around the same time. However, I have been holding on to Alexampersandra's for over a week now. Sorry for the holdup. From Alexampersandra:
The ROYGBV piece is really clever. The other has green gems and they are so reflective on the silver background. Love them! Next I have pieces from mlookyloo1:
Cute rainbow piece, and I couldn't have thought of a better orange than candy corn. Next, these are from seeuudee:
I love, love, love the rainbow piece. It will most likely get the award for shiniest piece of the whole puzzle. The blue, of course, is lovely too. Next I have pieces from llisaredd. We agreed to swap 6 pieces in the beginning. Since our theme was so similar, I was excited I could do a red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple for her, and she did 3 rainbow pieces and 3 assigned color pieces for me. Here's the rainbow ones....
She used such different things making each piece and they are so creative. I'll still be altering lots of my own puzzle, and I'm really impressed that not one piece I got was something I had jotted down to do myself. And here's the purple, green, and red llisaredd did...
The red tootsie roll piece is great! The purple and green are both fuzzy, and the frog piece is so cute too. All of these pieces were all so perfectly cut out and placed too. Thanks for altering 6 for me, Lisa.
Thanks, everyone who sent me my most recent pieces. I'm loving them all!
Now, I have to alter 24 pieces myself. As soon as this hurricane/tropical storm moves along and isn't a threat to my immediate area, I'm planning on jumping right into altering the rest of my puzzle. I couldn't resist putting together what I have so far,... and I'm loving it.
Here's the latest pieces I have recieved. These are from Luvebuggy99
Love the tie-dye look of the rainbow one. And they are both so bright and fit their color schemes so well.
These pieces are from KriSmith
Yellow submarine, complete with music! The slight distress look of these is really interesting. (And would you mind me asking, Kris, what you used to seal these with? I like the finish, but don't think its anything I've used before.)
I got another set of pieces from CDEeeek that are awesome!
I see while I was able to get a picture of the glazed piece without reflection, it just darkened the whole picture. They are really bright in person. For my rainbow theme she did an artists palette. One of my favorite things, so that was really cute. And for the yellow she added assorted dimensional elements. Love the little button in the corner. And the background papers are perfect. Thank you, Cynthia! Towards the end I will post an in progress pic. I still have pieces left over (that I wanted to do myself) but I took them out of the puzzle in strips. When I have all my pieces sent back, I will have 4 parts that fit together, even if I don't have all my leftover pieces altered yet.
I did a personal swap with yoopidou for inchies. She chose my 'closeups of masterpieces' theme, which no one has ever done yet. So these were really exciting to get.
Most of the edges are gold, which added the the priceless antique look to them. Not one of them isn't beautiful, but I do like the Cassat, Degas and Dali. For anyone who may be unfamiliar with any of them, the card was a 'cheat sheet' she printed out to compare. Almost like a little game.
I was really excited to get these... Thanks so much yoopidou, they are awesome, and I love that you chose my these that may seem somewhat intimidating.
I got pieces back from 2 partners recently. These are from pilarfarmer
I love the buttons she used, co cute.... My theme was rainbows, and nearly everyone I sent to had a rainbow piece and a single color to do. She ended up with orange and I love the little orange car. I'm already excited about putting my puzzle together! These pieces are from mandymo13
I love the rainbow tiger piece! And ladybugs were a great idea for red. So cute.
Thanks for giving me a great start to my puzzle, you 2!
A few days ago I got two lovely badges from Luvebuggy99.
First, the Cat in the Hat- Hat! The colors are spot on, even in the background. I really like the red and white decorative stitching framing it. I was so excited to get a Dr. Suess badge!
And the next is the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. I love the cute red mushroom he's sitting on and all the beading. My mom (I show her all my art stuff, made and received) was especially fond of this one. Thanks so much Luvebuggy! So now, besides admiring everything rolling into the gallery, this swap will be done for me. I will be eagerly awaiting another round, whenever it happens!
