1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: blue pleated dress on: June 23, 2013 11:02:35 AM
Lovely colour and shape. Did you draft this yourself or make it from a pattern? I've been looking for a dress pattern like this!

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / 50s style dress pattern on: January 10, 2013 10:34:47 AM
Does anyone know where I can find a pattern for this style of dress? I've tried the usual pattern suppliers and couldn't find the right sort of bodice http://pinterest.com/pin/212654413626808485/
I don't really need the pattern for the skirt part, it's the wrapping underneath the fabric I like. I got some awesome fabric for Christmas - this one if anyone's interested http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://kawaii.kawaii.at/img/Michael-Miller-fabric-Gnomeville-gnomes-dots-145014-2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.modes4u.com/en/kawaii/p3590_Michael-Miller-fabric-Gnomeville-gnomes-dots.html&h=500&w=500&sz=65&tbnid=o8SyUv6guxRVIM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=90&zoom=1&usg=__ZHcMr2J3VvTqsqLEJF9mJzd50-I=&docid=wW0RNSKFWqypcM&sa=X&ei=agnvUI-jN_HB0gXGzoDABQ&ved=0CD0Q9QEwAw&dur=707 - and I would love to have this style of dress! Thanks  Grin
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How to crochet a (flat) spiral on: November 12, 2012 01:01:55 PM
I am trying to make these cat bookmarks Huh http://translate.google.com/translate?depth=1&hl=en&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=auto&tl=en&twu=1&u=http://vse-sama.ru/igrushki-suveniry/koty-zakladki.html and so far I have done them up to the tail (having made up my own instructions after Google translate has gone awry!) but I cannot figure out how to crochet the tail so it curls up into a spiral but remains flat. The only instructions I can find on the internet are how to crochet in the round, and so are no use in this case. Any help is gratefully received  Cheesy
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: TARDIS umbrella on: July 18, 2012 02:46:52 PM
In terms of sealing it, you could try some spray that seals leather and suede jackets/shoes available from shoe shops? Don't know how well it would work or if it would make the paint run so probably worth a test first. Oh, and THIS ROCKS!
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Recovering a filofax on: July 16, 2011 02:02:20 PM
Is that stuff available in the UK? I've never heard of it! Or would any strong spray adhesive work (have never used it). Thanks  Smiley
7  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Recovering a filofax on: July 13, 2011 04:49:45 AM
I'm not sure if this is the right topic for this, so sorry if it's in the wrong place.

I have a grubby filofax that currently has a red pleather cover, and I'm thinking of recovering it but I'm not sure how. I thought about fabric, particularly oilcloth but am not too sure how to go about it. I was thinking of using mod podge, but haven't used it before so not too sure what the easiest way is.

Any suggestions please?
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: I wanna put on...mah mah mah mah mah boogie earbuds! on: February 24, 2011 11:58:47 AM
Is there a way of crocheting one of these? I totally can't knit, but can crochet! My headphones always get tangled as soon as I put them down, and I don't get on with those doo-dahs you wrap the headphones round so this looks perfect! Smiley
9  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Re: quickie dress that anybody can make - Infinity Dress and link to tutorial on: September 29, 2010 11:50:25 AM
Thankyou sooo much to pfirsch for that website that showed the ways of tying it  Kiss, I hadn't realised how wide the straps were, so have options to show as little or as much as I like. Definitely gonna make this dress now  Grin
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet twisting as go along on: September 23, 2010 02:46:49 PM
When I crochet something in a long line, for example a scarf, it twists round as I go. I was hoping crocheting a couple of rows onto the foundation chain would help, but it just becomes more obvious. I think it may be something to do with my tension, but I'm not really sure how to solve it. Does anyone have any ideas or suffer from the same problem?
Thankyou Huh
