22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Two new tote bags on: April 15, 2005 09:29:36 AM
Here are two new bags I made the other night. I didn't use a pattern I just traced an old tote I had for the size.

The brown bag is a gift for my cousin (who just had a baby boy) it also has a matching quilt. Happy Birthday Baby Jayden!

This bag was sold to my co-worker. Its a gift for his niece on her 14th birthday.

Northwest High School - March 19th .... I have a table at this show
Millard West High Schol - March 12th ...... I'd like to get a table but I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone in charge of it.
24  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cassette Tape ID Case *** Tutorial Added*** on: March 02, 2005 02:59:43 PM
This is an ID Case made from an old cassette tape. I split it open ripped out the insides and used heavy duty tape for a hinge. It closes with velcro and has a key ring strap.
It can hold an ID, credit card and 20 bucks just fine.
I don't have any other pictures of it right now but I can take some it people are interested

http://www.yesalbum.com/v001/MeShellRene/idcases.jpg

Here is a quick tutorial I made, sorry if it doesn't help much I dont own a digital camera so I had to draw it out. Hopefuly in the future I can up load some actual photos.

Optional steps:
Key Chain: If you want to add a key chain I would drill
the hole before you add the hinge. If you donthave a drill ( I didnt )
you can use a small screw driver and press and turn in for about a half
hour into the corner of the tape making a hole.

Not so ugly inside: If you dont want to see all the little places you had to
cut plastic away you can line the tape with you choice of material.
I used contact paper.... but Im sure you could use fabric and
spray glue or something along thoes lines.

28  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Web Sites vs. Local Shops??? on: February 07, 2005 08:20:46 AM
I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to set up a web site? Or would it be better to try and get my bags and other items into on-line consignment shops and local stores?
Have people really made and money or had alot of sales off their site? Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone had and opinion.
