1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My first skirt! on: March 19, 2011 09:52:20 PM
So here's the first skirt I've ever made! It only took about an hour and a half start to finish!
I've only made bags in the past and this was pretty simple for me.

It's basically two rectangles with a pocket at the top for the elastic waist.
I think the next skirt I make I'll attempt to put in pockets.
Hope you like it!

The floral patter is browns and grays with a bit of mustard.

Detail of top stitching.

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Happy Housewife on: August 30, 2009 09:28:04 PM
This is an embroidery piece I did for an up coming "Labor" Day art show. I designed the pattern in Freehand on my computer then transfered it over to the fabric with graphite paper. It took me a few hours a day over a week and a half of time. I'm really pleased with the way it came out the only part I'm not happy with is the small circles at the bottom this was the first time I've attempted something so detailed. I also got the frame at a local shop and spray painted it a high gloss red to up the Kitch factor.

Hope you enjoy it!

Started with my pattern (I cut out the dots b/c I had to get it turned in for the show and ran out of time)

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Evil is powerless if the good are unafraid... Ronald Reagan on: January 09, 2009 08:55:00 PM
Here is a portrait I embroidered of President Ronald Reagan.
The company I work for was having an art show for it's employees and this is the piece I entered.
For my first portrait I think it turned out pretty well.
I made the pattern on the computer using Freehand and a photo I found of him.
The frame was from a thrift store and spray painted with a high gloss red paint.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out!!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Magazine Totes: 1949 Time Life, AFI and Funky Fashion **Image Heavy** on: February 11, 2006 10:11:05 AM
I love making these bags and they sell really well at the craft shows.
The first bag is made from a great movie ad from a 1949 Time Life Magazine and the rest are from a Rolling Stone and a NYLON mag.

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / 4 New Bags: Fruit, Friends, Green Curtain and Vintage Yellow **Image Heavy** on: February 11, 2006 09:59:21 AM
Here are some new bags that I've made over the past months. Now that the Holidays are over I might actually have time to make more.

After taking the photos I realized that I probably should have used a less busy background. Sorry.

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / My "Hip to be Square" Bathroom on: February 03, 2006 08:58:15 AM
We moved into our new house a little over a year ago and this is the only room in the house that is completely decorated and finished.... well almost finished I need to get some little trinkets for the boxes.

I've seen boxes like these at Target for around $20 but I got these at a local Salvation Army Thrift Shop for $3 and with a little white paint I think they match perfect.

8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / 74 thousand stickers that read "July 31st, 2006" on: December 13, 2005 01:52:12 PM
Hello the company I work for had some stickers printed, 74 thousand to be exact, but the company that printed them accidently printed them the wrong size. So instead of throwing them away I opted to take them home.
But what the heck can I do with 'em???

They're approx  1.25 inches by .5 inches
Here's what they look like
9  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Trick or Treat Bag on: October 19, 2005 12:40:39 PM
Here's a bag I made for the daughter of a lady I work with. I LOVE the fabric plus it GLOWS IN THE DARK!!! I kinda wanted to keep it for my self but since I have more fabric I guess I just have to make one for me to keep.

This kinda shows what it looks like in the dark.... I took it with the night vision setting setting, only the web part glows
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Something New.. well sorta. (image heavy) on: October 19, 2005 11:43:26 AM
Here is a new bag I made its kind of a combination of a bunch of different bags I was inspired by. This is the first of its kind so the pattern and assembly need to be tweaked alittle befor I sell any.
