22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tennessee Bag, Denim & orange cotton quilted on: March 01, 2010 09:02:06 PM
Lotsa pics...My friend liked my brown bag so much she requested I make her one just like it but with a big orange T on the front for Tennessee.  I made the pattern for the bag myself just by what kind of style I wanted & size.  I handmade the applique using the fabric for the lining, the outer fabric is a stretchy blue denim with a peek-a-boo bit of orange on the top end of the zipper and the lining is orange & quilted with soft fleece to give it stability & softness.  Two denim inner pockets as well and I added my label.  What do you think?   Kiss

I've seen these before but not this small...excellent job!  It's the perfect size to keep kids busy just long enough.  You did a very nice job...love it!

No it's not batik but it reminded me of it when I bought it.  I love the beauty of batik though.  Still working on these to make them not wrinkle & pucker.  I love how quick they were to make and my friend I made one for loves it!! Smiley

Thank you for the link.  I was making them for a friend at work who wanted one but didn't know what style she wanted.  She ended up taking the basic sleeve one but I've got 3 others to make with my cut out fabric for the envelope style one so this will help.  Thanks again.  Oh and the fabric I've had in my stash and just didn't know where to use it...was afraid to use it on anything because it's so pretty.  Smiley

Well I took my first stab at making a couple glasses cases.  Overall they will work but I need to work on the sizes and figure out how to get the fabric on the inside of the envelope style one to not be rippled inside.  Let me know what you think and if you know of any links to some good tutes that will help me out.  I just kinda winged it by placing my glasses on some paper and sketching a pattern out.  Thanks for looking.
