1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Queen size satin Leopard Print sheet set? on: August 16, 2010 07:11:04 PM
Oooh, I love having extra sheets, lots of fabric to work with!  When I read satin leopard print, I thought of a nightie.  You could make a really cute babydoll that would be really comfy.  I've been wanting to make one using this tute http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=5043

You could also make a really nice robe, possibly even matching with all the fabric you have to work with!

I hope its okay to post links, but I just came across this tutorial for a child's back pack recently on the Sew Mama Sew blog http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=9475

You could also repurpose the fabric into a child-sized blanket for your son.  I plan on doing this someday with the few articles of clothing I have of my father's.

The VHS box idea is awesome, I never thought of that!
My closest friend just arrived in Iraq two weeks ago, and battling 125F+ heat, they can use all the comfort they can get.  Even for those soliders that are on well outfitted bases(by military standards)- my friend has to walk over a mile in the heat just to get to the dining area.  He said for that reason him and some of the other soliders are skipping meals, which is not good at all.  Easy to eat snacks they can keep in their bunks would be very appreciated.
Its a selfless loving thing you've done sending to soliders you have never met, I just wanted to thank you on behalf of someone else who has a loved one over there!
