2  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by jennsa75 on: September 21, 2010 09:49:50 PM
Ok, so I know that my partner posted a pic of my apron, but here is a pic of it on me. Not the most flattering pic, but that is ok. She included colored pens!!! as goodies and a great cat toy - a bee on a wand, which both of my cats looooooove. Cat toys are pretty hit and miss with them, but these guys really get into swatting the bee around and going after it,which is especially good for my Fred, who is on an exercise regimen since he is pretty overweight.
Thank you so much Audrey!!! The swap was fun and I love my apron. I haven't worn it yet to cook or clean (mostly because I haven't done much cooking or cleaning - I'm lazy  Grin)

3  Re: Super Simple Apron Swap Round 2 (Sign ups: 7/29 - 8/12; Send out 9/6) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by jennsa75 on: August 06, 2010 07:42:58 PM
What a cutie. Does she like her new apron? I have a picture of the one and only apron I've ever made. It is actually the second thing I've made from a pattern. I usually only do straight sewing (I piece quilt tops and do machine quilting on my sewing machine). Anyway...here is the apron I made - but not modeled on a cute kidlet.

Don't *any* other Aussies want to join me? Ah well bonus of being the sole Aussie in swaps is I'm learning all the geography I failed at in school lol.
I just got done making a kangaroo. But....that is as close as I get to being an Aussie.

Her nose is a bit on the big side. Or...you can just imagine that she's got into some chocolate.

5  Luna Moth Shawl in Knitting: Completed Projects by jennsa75 on: July 30, 2010 08:56:47 PM
Here is my almost real lace shawl. I call it my almost real lace shawl because I used fingering weight yarn instead of lace weight yarn. I loved the pattern. No errata and it was free. You can't beat that! I made this for my best friend, Dee, as a gift for her when she was recovering from surgery. I used Dream in Color Starry in Prairie Grass. Loved the colorway.

6  Mmmmmm.....stuffed kangaroo in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by jennsa75 on: July 30, 2010 05:03:52 PM
This is the first stuffed toy I ever made. I had a few "issues" with it. Looks fine if you run by it at 60 mph. But, I keep seeing my flaws. The nose is too big. The forepaws are not level. The head looks like it is staring off in one direction - as opposed to being on straight. The eyes are a little too high on the head. Everyone I show this to says it is adorable and says that my 3 year old niece is not going to see any flaws at all. She'll just be happy to have a handmade kangaroo.
I plan on making a super small version of this kangaroo and putting it in the pouch as a joey. Then, I'll give it to my niece. I hope to learn from my mistakes and make a better looking joey.

7  My first apron! Simplicity 2626 in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by jennsa75 on: July 18, 2010 10:23:16 AM
I made my first apron yesterday and today. Took a long time since I'm really not all that great at sewing. It was my second time actually following a pattern for any kind of sewing. I'm pretty happy with it. It is for my 3 year old niece's birthday. She will also get a knitted kangaroo, but so far, I only have various appendages of that and no body.

8  Happy Alien Scarf in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by jennsa75 on: July 15, 2010 08:59:31 PM
So this is my Alien Illusion Scarf that I made. I changed the last alien to have a happy face....just because.

9  Re: What are you working on? in Quilting: Discussion and Questions by jennsa75 on: July 10, 2010 07:37:42 PM
I'm working on quilting my Falling Leaves quilt. It is a nine patch variation. Mostly boring, but with a little pizzaz with the autumn leaves and the herky jerky applique. I can't post a picture of it here since I'm so new, but you can see it on my blog if you are interested. ETA: now, I can post a pic. Here it is:
