I love these crayons!  So cute and I would do this with older students, I'm a teacher, but maybe turn it into an art lesson about mixing colors.  How did you melt them?  They are awesome!  Great idea!

115  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello from Northern Illinois on: July 14, 2010 07:59:28 AM
Hello fellow craftsters!

I've been browsing this site for a while, but didn't sign up till last week.  There is amazing stuff on here and I feel so inspired.

I like to try my hand at almost any craft.  However, I like to make jewelry the most.  I also like to find unique items and use them in a project.  I am thinking about getting back into polymer clay.  I messed around with it a bit back in high school, but haven't touched it for years.  I'd much rather make something with my hands.  I am also working on sewing.  When I was younger I used to make purses out of old jeans and I have my old sewing machine, I just need to play around some more.  I can crochet, but for some reason I only pick it up in the winter.

I am interested in screen printing and watercolors, so those will be my next areas of trying out crafting.

If anyone is in the Northern Illinois area feel free to message me.  I've moved back after being away at college and some crafting buddies would be great.

This site is amazing!
Brooke

P.S. Can't wait for my first swap!

117  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: 36 boring frames ( lots of fotos) on: July 12, 2010 10:20:52 AM
Such a cool project.  It reminds me of something I'd see in a really cool hipster house!  LOVE IT! It also reminds me of a project I'm working on that needs an old window frame.  Well done, my favorite part is the tin! A good idea to move them around and such.

119  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: What's a college craftster to do? on: July 11, 2010 10:53:59 AM
Find a crafter roommate.  My last year of college I got an apartment with a fellow crafter, she's amazing.  The apartment was cheap, but we got four rooms for two people.  We each had a spare room to craft in and whatnot.  I know space is limited for you, but find crafters on campus and see what they have available for use.
Best of Luck!

Love the bike and the glitter.  Must have taken an large amount of time to do.  I'd like to see what the workspace looked like after the glittering was done.  Wink
