1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Tiny Item Swap on: July 06, 2013 05:47:17 AM
Would anyone be interested in a miniature swap, or tiny item swap.  I was thinking of maybe doing a swap where we would send a tiny item( small than 2 X 2 X 2) to a partner or two or three!

I'd be willing to co-organize the swap, but since I've never organized before I would love to have some help.

Also any ideas on this swap would be great!

It really is lovely! (And where is that pattern from?!)

I found a book of doily patterns at Jo Ann fabrics and it was in there.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Grin  I did block it and it helped flatten it out a bit.  If I do one again I'll definitely go a size bigger with the hook.

I've been meaning to post this for a while. This is my first doily. I made it as a late Christmas present.  It didn't flatten out so nicely, I'm sure it's a tension issue.  I spent between 24 and 30 hours on this piece.  I'm pleased with it, even if the tension is a little off.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Altered Altoid Tin - Robot on: September 07, 2012 06:42:04 PM
He is so darned cute! You did a great job on him. What is his head made out of?

His head is made out of the thing that goes around a door lock when you replace the door knob.  I just put some green scrapbook paper to cover the big whole then backed the whole thing with silver paper.

So I've seen lots of amazing altered tins on here and wanted to try one of my own.  I read this amazing tutorial ( http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=374080.0 ) and wanted to give it a go.  I originally planned to just decorate it with robot themes then I stumbled upon Gordon Bennett's robots ( http://www.bennettrobotworks.com/robots.php ) and well one thing turned into another.

Lots of E6000, found objects, and a trip to the hardware store and craft store later I present Alfred the robot!

What about a swap crafting only with items found in a hardware store?!?!  Maybe putting a cash limit on it too so it doesn't get to expensive.  I'd love to see what amazing crafts we can come up with from the treasure trove that is the hardware store.

I would love a pattern for this.  How did you get the criss cross effect?

That mascot was a gift for my BF, so unfortunately it's not on display.  However, the games are tons of fun!

Love it!  I've been wanting to try an altered puzzle for some time, this gives me motivation to get started on one!
