31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Where to buy cheap charms? on: February 06, 2011 02:28:10 PM
I love the look of loaded charm bracelets, so I was thinking about making one . . . but when I started looking at charms, it made me a little nervous. At $2-3 a charm, this bracelet is going to quickly turn into the most expensive piece of jewelry I've ever made!

Does anyone have any place where they get their charms for less? Or is $2-3 pretty standard?

Aw man. This pattern gave me fits, I must've frogged it 3 or 4 times before I finally gave up on it. Tongue

You did a beautiful job though, looks fantastic! Smiley

So I was part of a round robin, and my lovely partner NightOwl21 sent me the best swap package EVER. I originally said I didn't want extras, and she messaged me saying she'd made a couple other things and would it be okay if she sent them. So I said yes, and I was COMPLETELY blown away.

Begin Hyrule-y goodness of AWESOME:

First, a super-awesome wall banner, featuring the Sheikah eye symbol and the Hyrule crest + Triforce:

Second, decals for my laptop, featuring Navi and the Hyrule crest (again):

Third, another decal of the Hylian Shield (which I may or may not put on my guitar, because that would be awesome):

Fourth, my very own pair of GAUNTLETS! (Which are very soft, very warm, and came in a lovely forest green.) Insert Sheik-esque pose:

And lastly, EVERYTHING ELSE:

1) Rupee charm bracelet, 2) Fairy-in-a-bottle necklace, 3) Leafy Forest Temple-inspired barrette, 4) another Forest Temple barrette, this time with flowers, 5) Gold wire bracelets, featuring the 3 Spiritual Stones, 6) Rupee-Heart-Triforce earrings, and 7) a Fairy-and-Triforce bead bracelet.

OMG. Note to self: Go to ComicCon this year and wear EVERYTHING. Cheesy

Oh, and action shot of me wearing the Fairy-in-a-bottle necklace. I found one on Etsy forEVER ago, and I've always wanted one but could never justify spending the money . . . and now I have one. Cheesy

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOO much, you are the best swap partner ever. <3
