21  V-Neck T-shirt w/ link to tutorial in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by chewynoodles on: June 27, 2011 09:27:49 PM
I've been wanting a v-neck for a while, and I finally got around to making one! It was pretty easy, but it was time consuming because the fabric is some kind of spandex-y material and it kept shifting around and when I tried to cut a straight line it became all jagged looking. It consists of only 2 pieces! Though i'm sure if you got an extra long piece of fabric you could make a one piece shirt.  Wink I didn't put on a neckband because jersey doesn't fray, but I may make another version with a neckband. I barely had enough fabric and that's what prevented me from adding a hood, haha. Tutorial here: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/v-neck-shirt-tutorial.html

I accidentally snipped a hole in the back piece, so I embroidered over it.

That says 'mayonayse,' by the way, not 'mother.'
Thx for looking! C & c welcome!  Grin

And another shirt my sister made:

Her inspiration is a shirt from nordstroms:

If you want a tutorial for this shirt, I can probably make one. Thank you!  Grin

22  Icord Fisherman's Bracelet in Knitting: Completed Projects by chewynoodles on: June 23, 2011 12:12:01 PM
I made this bracelet out of some string and us 3 dpns. I was originally going to string some hex nuts on it, but i don't have any so I just tied a knot in the center instead.  Tongue It's adjustable; so if you pull the bracelet open, it gets bigger, and when you pull the strings it gets smaller. It's a good summer accessory cuz you can just wear it in the pool with no worries. And even if it does break or you lose it, then just make another one! Thanks for looking! 23  DIY Racerback Tank Top w/ link to tutorial in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by chewynoodles on: June 16, 2011 02:06:07 PM
Here's my new racerback tank top! I've been admiring this tank top by Old Navy, though they call it a 'knotted racerback tank' when really it's a strip of fabric sewn on.  Huh Inspiration:

Anyways, I went to michael's and got a size S t-shirt for $2.50! Yay for weekly sales! Though I don't like that you can't use 40-50% off coupons on sale/clearance items... Ah well. The tank top is completely no-sew, so it only takes about 30 minutes (for me anyways).  Smiley Here's the link to the tutorial: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/diy-racerback-tank-top-tutorial.html

24  Glossy Paper Chain Bracelet w/ link to tutorial in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by chewynoodles on: June 14, 2011 12:31:59 PM
I made a new bracelet out of scrapbooking paper! I love the color combo, and I made it out of 2 sheets of scrapbooking paper for only 50 cents (for both pieces) from michaels. I like how glossy and shiny it is; i sealed it with modpodge. I can imagine it as a cute summer accessory. Smiley The brown paper is kind of a cherry blossom design, while the green/blue paper has some random dots and flowers on it. Plus, since i sealed it with modpodge it's a lot more durable than just regular paper. I've tried using gum wrappers like the original technique, but for me they're too small to fold up.  Sad Here's the link to the tutorial: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/paper-bracelet-tutorial.html

P.S. i wasn't sure if this was supposed to be in the paper/scrapbooking section or jewelry section, so sorry...

25  Weekend Convertible 3-in-1 shrug w/ link to pattern in Knitting: Completed Projects by chewynoodles on: June 12, 2011 04:00:59 PM
My new shrug/scarf/cowl! Tie it around your neck for a scarf, pull the whole tube on for a cowl, or slip your arms into the holes at the end for a shrug! It is knit with worsted weight yarn and US 19 needles, so it is naturally lacey. You can wear it over a tshirt or just over a long sleeve. It is kind of oversized though... But it's really comfy though not necessarily warm. Pattern here: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/convertible-weekend-3-in-1-shrug.html

The pattern is super easy for a beginner.I think I'm gonna make another in a different color.

26  Magic Bars in Dessert by chewynoodles on: June 09, 2011 09:30:26 PM

Tonight we made some delicious magic bars for a bake sale... We used not just chocolate chips but butterscotch chips too (yup, those little brown things aren't corn)! They turned out really nicely, i think. We made 2 trays. the step-by-step recipe is here: http://chewynoodles.blogspot.com/2011/06/magic-bars-and-mango-hello-kitty.html Thanks for stopping by! C and c welcome!
Mmmm... I love these, just without the coconut. One tray had coconut, the other without.

My friend says that Lululemon headbands are the best. So I looked on their site. But seriously? $12 for braided knit and bungee cord? Nah-ah. So I made my own (for free. ha!).

28  Slouchy Raglan w/ Link to tutorial in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by chewynoodles on: May 17, 2011 05:15:27 PM
Here's my new slouchy raglan shirt! Slightly off the shoulder, it is extremely comfortable! It's made from black double ponte (?) knit and spandex-y aqua fabric. I love the large kangaroo pocket in the front. The sleeves are banded, because i made one sleeve inside out so the sleeve started curling towards the inside.  Tongue
