This sounds like an amazingly innovative and challenging idea, and I would LOVE to see it come to fruition.

46  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Dried chillies on: July 25, 2006 10:19:23 AM
yes, I would be more likely to wear something like that than the earrings.
Also, something quite popular here in NM (and not just around Christmas time) are chili pepper Christmas lights.  I think they would be very easy to make.  Just get a string x-mas lights and glue those suckers on.

Ah, good to know.  Because I remeber as a kid just touching one of those and burning the hell out of my eye!
But I like the earrings.  What about a chili pendant?

hmmm... I would definitely not suggest making any kind of jewelry out of those.  Have you ever gotton chili oil/powder/flecks in your eye?  Not fun... at all.
I would suggest using them for cooking.
Or, it that doesn't suit your taste(ha), here in New Mexico we have chili restras which are similar to garlic chains.
In either case, I would suggest that you find a use for them which doesn't involve touching, if you know what I mean.
Hope that's helpful.
