2  Zombie Hand Brooch & Skull Beads in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ZimBunny on: January 17, 2012 09:19:30 AM
My first attempt at sculpting hands. Clearly the best thing to start with was a bloated, amputated, zombified hand. You cant see it too well in these pictures but Ive carved away some of the flesh to expose muscle and bone. My camera is being evil so the side detail isn't so clear Sad

Didnt come out too badly Smiley Just needs glazing now.

Also my first attempt at sculpting skulls, I seem to like making things in miniature as these are 1cm wide, again not to bad.

Note: I apologise for the pictures coming out so yellow, my lightbox has died and my house seems very yellow.

3  9th Doctor Who and Snowy TARDIS in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ZimBunny on: December 24, 2011 03:31:54 PM
My home made Christmas present for my fella Smiley

A crocheted TARDIS topped with snow for a Christmasy feel.
And my attempt at the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) who is the fella's favourite Doctor.

The TARDIS is a Christmas ornament and can be hung from the tree while the mini Doctor can be hung from his keys.

Didn't come out as badly as I expected. I hope he likes them!

5  Steampunk Ragamuffin Robot Embroidery in Needlework: Completed Projects by ZimBunny on: December 23, 2011 01:09:23 PM
A part of the swap parcel I sent. I'm quite happy with how he has come out. The satin stitch was used alot in this one. Rivets were done with an evil metallic thread which I now hate. In place of his ever present patch is a real watch cog Smiley

6  Steampunk Alice In Wonderland Bag Charm (pic weighty) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ZimBunny on: December 23, 2011 12:51:53 PM
I recently did a personal swap and here is part of it Smiley Didnt come out exactly as I wanted, I was originally recreating the scene where Alice met the caterpillar and he evolves into the butterfly, but Alice got damaged and I dont have any blue polymer clay left so Ive had to substitute her. I knew my partner loves mushrooms so I knew I had to involve it somewhere, hence this scene.

You cant see it well in this picture but I aged the look of the pieces with acrylic paints and high pigmented eye shadows (I have no mica powders). Oh and for the caterpillar's hookah I used a bulb.

7  Steampunk Soot Sprite in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by ZimBunny on: December 23, 2011 12:33:20 PM
I recently did a personal swap (yey!) and for it we had three themes; Lenore, Alice In Wonderland and My Neighbour Totoro. Another part of the swap was that everything had to be steampunked in some way. So here is one of them Smiley

The soot sprite from My Neighbour Totoro and Spirited Away. Since my partner wanted a steampunk theme, I decided to give him a pair of flying goggles. Now he is ready for his time hiding away on dirigibles.

The soot sprite himself is crocheted while the goggles are made from tops and an old leather belt I cut up, the head band is a brass chain. Acrylic paints aged the lenses.

More practise Smiley Some have come out better than others really. Still happy with the results so far Smiley Wonky picture fail =/

Logic dictates that trying to draw eyes onto clay should be done when 1 yr old nephews are asleep and not running around, oops =/

Still trying my hand with clay. Don't think these have come out too bad. The first is proof of my love to tentacles Smiley The second is my attempt at something steampunky. Plus hats. I like hats.
