2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / National Bohemian Mascot on: February 27, 2011 07:28:38 PM
National Bohemian Beer is a cheap beloved beer in Baltimore, MD.

The armature is made out of a thin sheet of plastic melted around boning.  PVC piping holds a hidden bike helmet in place.  The white of the face is a heavily scotch guarded encore fabric.  The hair and mustache are sculpted out of upholster foam, patterned and covered with stretch vinyl.  The eye is a cardboard circle covered with an appliqued eye image.  The wearer sees through the scrim covered mouth hole.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Golden Spiral Baby Quilt on: February 27, 2011 06:42:50 PM
I have a math teacher friend who would go ga-ga for this. Great job!

Thanks.  My brother is a physicist.  I made it for his new baby.
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Golden Spiral Baby Quilt on: February 27, 2011 12:13:40 PM

After much math and forethought I cut out my pieces and laid them out.

Then I drew and cut out the spiral.

I appliqued the cut spiral pieces down, and added green fuzzy lines to separate the squares.  With my cat's support I hand quilted using a made up abstract organic pattern.

After hand quilting I machine quilted.  Finally I turned and finished the edges.
