1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Converting Garage space for a new Sewing/crafting room. on: September 29, 2015 07:07:14 AM
Hello Craftsters.

I need your advice. Im about to kit my garage out to make a crafting space and was going to take a trip to Ikea and other home furniture stores.

What I would like to know is all the things you think I will need.
example?
what's in your opinion the best kind of storage for fabrics?
what's the best storage for thread?
what kind of sewing table should I get?
etc

Please offer me advice and tips for things I should be using to store my equipment.
I'm pretty sure there's things I never even knew existed for crafters when storing equipment, fabrics, tools, etc

*IDEA*
How about if everyone posts an image of their sewing/crafting space so I can get an idea of what I should be aiming for.

Thank you for your help guys in advanced. The decorating and converting will be a craft within itself. So I can't wait to get started but I want to make sure I dont forget anything while out shopping.

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / One or Two Cushions for your home craft Swap on: February 07, 2015 12:51:01 PM
What does everyone think about an idea to craft a pair of (or just one) cushions or just the covers for a home craft swap?
we could do a theme or keep it random.
Check out this Pinterest link for inspiration.

We could use any kind of materials.
Yarnies could knit or crochet,
Sewists can embroider and  stitch.
or we could mix it up a bit. The combinations and ideas are endless.  Perhaps this could give you a chance to try something new. For example if you've never tried applique this could give you the inspiration to give it a try.

What do y'all think?
I'm from the UK so i'd hope to get the attention of some Brits over here. but I'm ok with sending abroad. Which we could agree to just make a cushion case.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / QR code Cross stitch on: May 29, 2012 01:36:19 AM
I'm a Huge fan of The Matrix and i wanted to make a cross stitch version of a QR code. So i made this with a quote By Neo to Trinity.
I love how you can hide anything in a QR code. It gave me loads of ideas. But here's my first attempt to see if it would even work.

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / What can I make with this? (engagement gift) on: May 16, 2011 12:12:34 PM
Hello everyone.
I'm having a bit of crafters block. I wanted to make an Engagement gift for some friends. This is what I have so far.
I was first thinking to frame it in a fancy frame  but then I thought perhaps some kinda pillow or perhaps one of them small hanging pillow things (I'm sure I  have seen one of these somewhere)

9  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Bull terrier on: March 08, 2011 02:04:47 PM

just made this for my mate. Its only small but I think she'll like it once i frame it.
making them french knots (the studs on the collar)with metallic took four hands! this is my first time making french knots. damn they are hard work!
10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Okami on: March 08, 2011 10:56:53 AM
this is my hmm 4th image embroidery i have made and i think i'm getting better every time. just need to practice a few more techniques and i think i will be ready to move on to coloring.

oh forgot to add the info part

erm used normal black thread for the thin parts and embroidery thread for the thicker lines. 2 strands of orange to do the flames and doubled up a grey and blue to do the halo (?) disc.
i used a kind of thick fabric. I'm not sure what its called but its kind of like what some tea towels are made off.
The image itself is about 6 inch wide and about 5 inches tall
took me about a day to do as its pretty simple, just lines.
Going to be framed and hung on my wall along with my Cthulhu from DesignerFake

Any questions. just ask
