11  Son in Service Charm in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Caroline92f on: July 05, 2010 10:58:45 AM
I made this charm bracelet in dedication of my son who is serving his country.  I used sterling silver beads with his initials, crystal beads in red, clear and blue, and added charms of a cross, a star, a love mom/lovexxoo/ and a heart with angel wings.  I used a medium alligator clasp for closure.

12  3D Radio Battalion Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Caroline92f on: July 05, 2010 10:44:36 AM
My son is a U.S. Marine, and while he was deployed I came up with the idea of making a purse using his unit patch as the focal point.  I added a charm with the first boot band he sent me from basic training.  A boot band is what Marines "blouse" their pants with, and you have to earn the privilege.  So I took his boot band, added a silver charm with his initials, and added it to the bag.  I used the Quilt's Illustrated ps026 Mini Bow Tucks pattern designed by Sturges.

13  First Baby Quilt (tied) in Quilting: Completed Projects by Caroline92f on: July 05, 2010 10:36:37 AM
This is my second baby quilt.  The first one, I didn't get a good picture, and I attempted to stitch in the ditch.  I have a very old Kenmore sewing machine that I took out of my neighbor's trash can because they were throwing it away.  It belonged to his Grandmother and appears to be a 40's or 50's model, and I can't machine quilt.  I decided to try tying with embroidery floss and trim with pink satin.  It was hard, and not very perfect, but I am still proud I did it Smiley

14  Pink Elephant for First GDaughter in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Caroline92f on: July 05, 2010 10:09:55 AM
I've just started sewing and this is my first stuffed animal for my first granddaughter.  I had a lot of fun making it, though I made some mistakes along the way.  I used a pattern found in a sewing book I bought from Amazon.
