1  Re: Gnomes and Mushrooms Swap CLOSED Mail by Sept 15th in The Swap Gallery by Stars in a Spacecraft on: September 28, 2010 10:29:45 AM
I received a wonderful package from my amazing partner, Sylvanna!

First I took out this guy, he is just too sweet!

This little guy is adorable, I sat him on the first gnome's hat to take this picture, and he just seemed right at home!  I think he'll stay there for a while Smiley

Then there was this awesome embroidery, which will be going up on the wall near the entrance.

There were two little containers which she warned me would be difficult to open, but it was well worth it!!

These adorable mushroom buttons were in one...

And this fun, funky bracelet was in the other!!  I put the bracelet on right away.

These candies are not only super cute, but they're REALLY delicious!!  I laughed out loud when I saw them, they're too perfect!

And last but most definitely not least, this beautifully stitched tote bag!!  I was so excited when I saw it, I took it out grocery shopping right away, and then used it to carry my latest knitting project to work.  This was before I got to take a picture, which is why it's so wrinkled already haha.

I got so spoiled on my first swap, I feel so lucky to have been a part of this.  Thanks so much for your hard work at making my first swap such a success Sylvanna, and thank you cklnh for organizing Smiley

I finally got the doodles scanned up!!

So as not to spoil the surprise for my partner, I chose 3 of the doodles that I most likely won't be using for anything this time around.  There were like 11 of them!!  I had such a hard time choosing the ones that I'll be using in my projects.  He's gonna color them all for me yet too! Grin

Gnoooooooomes!

I seriously LOVE the guy in the middle, with the mushroom hat.  He doesn't look very happy about it!!  Haha Smiley

3  Double rainbow, all the way!! in Needlework: Completed Projects by Stars in a Spacecraft on: July 26, 2010 10:33:18 PM
I've been working on a somewhat large-ish cross stitch project, but in between I've been stitching little "instant gratitude" projects to keep my sanity.  As soon as I saw the Double Rainbow video (look it up on YouTube if you haven't seen it, and make sure you watch the Double Rainbow song too!) I knew what I had to do.

What does it meaaaaaaaaaan?!

Next time I make a project on 18 count aida, I'm only using one strand of thread unless I get a smaller needle.  I love those fat little stitches, but my poor needle could barely make it through!  So my tension was a little uneven... oh well!
