you're very convincing . . . but then i'd either do a terrible job with the swap or a terrible job on my halloween costume . . .

Oh, so Fetus Voldemort didn't get to you? Ah, well. He'll just need to take up a new job. I think Mickey D's is hiring...

i think i'm going to have to participate . . . so long as i get paired with you! hey starsix if you can partner me with GreenWhimsy i am SO in!

34  Re: Fill a Coin Purse Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Qwerty on: July 19, 2005 12:06:59 AM
first i have to say how awesome writer78's package was, it was like she was a close friend who knew exactly what to get me! i used the makeup bag on my trip this past week to comic-con and i was worried that the tsa might like it and take it since they went through my luggage. but it made it back safely. it is the purrfect size. the domokun keychain was a huge surprise and the beatles embroidered magnets still amaze me. thanks writer78! anyone who gets to swap with her will be SO lucky.

now on to the stuff i sent her. i admitt i agonized over her stuff because i was worried that i would get it all wrong (this is my first swap too), but i am so HAPPY that she LOVED the stuff . . . i'm glad that i agonized Tongue

the pouch is reversable and has a drawstring with grommets and a belt loop.

for the contents i made her a crocheted coin purse (also drawstring) with some coins from the UK, i made barrettes from some buttons that had a renaissance-ish design, i put a button on some felt to make a pin, and i embroidered her initials on a handkerchief.

i thought a wax seal would be cool but they are pricey so i got her a stamp with her initial on it and a stamp pad. finally i made her a travel embroidery kit.

the embroidery kit rolls up to be compact. inside it can hold several skiens of floss, it has a pocket for scissors/notions, and it has a spot for needles.

sorry for the image heavy post. its hard to see everything in one photo. this swap was a blast!

36  Domokun sewing machine cover RAWR in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Qwerty on: February 27, 2005 08:23:24 PM
I <3 Domokun. This is the first Domokun project I have brought to life. I have many more to come.

Domokun now protects my sewing machine from terrifying dust bunnies! He is made out of felt and I made the pattern based on the Jordy bag to make him more square. His eyes are large black buttons.

RAWR!

His mouth is a little on the large size, but he needs to be extra ferocious to protect my machine!

37  Re: nintendo ds case (first pictures posted) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Qwerty on: February 05, 2005 09:27:50 PM
i tried my hand at making one like this today. my pattern is working out well, but still needs some modifications. i'll post a tutorial if any one wants one after i've perfected it some more. this one is a bit snug but does have pockets for 2 gba advance games and 1 ds game. any modification suggestions welcome too.

thanks OP for the inspiration. i don't wanna take your credit. but i couldn't wait for a tute.

38  Re: Jordy Bag - Square Bottomed Lined Bag Tutorial in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Qwerty on: February 05, 2005 09:23:23 PM
new sewing machine + discovering craftster.org =

the material for the bag  was a shirt in it's previous life. i had been waiting and waiting for a sewing machine and the perfect bag pattern to reincarnate it! it's done, i even have enough material left over to make another bag or two.

thanks jordy.   Kiss
