I love that dress. I actually own a modified replica of that exact dress.
http://www.livejournal.com/users/j9photos/25155.html I didn't make it though, I bought it off someone who did.

do you know what pattern was used?

23  Re: Harry Potter Swap (Round 3) in The Swap Gallery by Qwerty on: October 20, 2005 09:44:39 PM
here are the lovely items i received from GreenWhimsy this week Cheesy

a mad eye moody inspired "trunk" i think i am going to use it as a treasure chest for prizes in my classroom

inside there were some wonderous goodies. unfortunately it is very difficult to see in the pics from my crummy camera. there is a necklace with mr. potter, ms. granger, and mr. weasley. all done very intricately in clay (polymer?). also a pair of beet earring, just like luna, and hair clips . . . one of voldemort and one of dumbledore! both of whom i adore.

there was a fetus voldemort pillowcase

and my favorite . . . a dark mark tshirt . . . that glows in the dark!!! i'll be wearing this to GoF.

i also tried to take a photo of the card she drew of lupin and tonks, but it was too blurry. sorry i don't have a scanner. but you get the idea of her drawing ability from the pic.

thanks for everything GreenWhimsy! I had a great time swapping with you (and fetus voldemort). Thanks StarSix for organizing!

24  Re: 3.5 Month Stash Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Qwerty on: October 20, 2005 08:25:22 PM
it's taken me too long to get the pics up of what (the lovely) seaofstars sent me. first there was an adorable zipper pouch, in brown! i love it, although i haven't decided what i am going to use it for.

inside she made something as an alternate to writing a letter. she made a little zine/scrapbook about herself. i don't know if she feels comfortable with me sharing all the pages, but here is a pic of the front . . .

. . . and one of the coolest pages . . . a sampling of her stash!

i was just going to send a letter but i think i am going to have to try to doing something as crafty as seaofstars. what an excellent idea! she really worked hard on this!

. . . and while i'm at it. i found some cheapo light blue makeup that is the perfect shade. $.78 at savers. and i found some "spider lady" lashes at sallys for $5.

again my apologies for the poor photos.

ok, i am super excited to post this even though it isn't completely finished (i need to buy more grommets) but i am relatively pleased with how the bodice turned out. the showing ribs were a bit disappointing (placed too low Sad ), but i was lucky to find grey lace. also the light was bad, couldn't use flash in the mirror, and no one else is here to take the shot. my cats aren't that talented.

27  Re: Wanted: Fingerless gloves pattern that uses worsted weight wool. in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by Qwerty on: October 12, 2005 04:12:13 AM
i used worsted weight in the www.ohmystars.net pattern even though it calls for something else. it was really simple and my first completed knitting project Wink

here a some action shots of the kitties with their new toys from pucchimaiko!

kiki (my baby) was the first to investigate and was ready to play, not to pose for pictures.

vash (the old man) just wanted to plop himself down on them and claim them for himself.

and here is the pink kanzashi in my hair.

i was so quick to open the stuff that i didn't realize the other one was also a barrette, i thought it was a pin Tongue
but it was hard to take pictures of that one on my own.
