1  Re: LOST Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Qwerty on: July 23, 2006 09:48:43 AM
I received my goodies from TreeTree on Friday!

1. Knitted water bottle holder to hold the same water bottles they use on LOST. There was even a rolled note in the water bottle!
2. "Dude, It's music" CD of songs featured on LOST. I'm actually listening to it at the moment. My favorite is the song that plays during the dream scene on "Everybody Hates Hugo."
3. Dharma pincushion.
4. Oceanic jewelry set.
5. Rock candy, a.k.a. Charlie's Stash. Sooper sweet!

Me modelling the jewelry (after "meet the teacher" night, see the frazzled hair). The necklace has the Oceanic logo on one side and the flight number on the other. TreeTree's first attempt with poly clay, as I understand, and she did a nice job!

Thanks TreeTree, everything is great and useful!

as promised, here are the goodies i received from stargirl:

the totebag and zippered pouch are the perfect colors. brown with pink interior and yellow accents. the kitties are adorbable (one fell off and i haven't had a chance to iron it back on because i started using it right away). there are even amazing zipper pouches inside the bag, exactly what i needed!

also a super soft crocheted slytherin scarf!

and purty fabric pins with cute patterns, hogwarts houses, and veggies (because i'm a vegetarian!). i can't wait to embellish everything with them!

thanks stargirl!

p.s. stargirl and i are going to continue swapping together after she suggested we send each other something each month! i'm so excited!

4  Re: Reversible tote bag - with tutorial in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Qwerty on: June 03, 2006 01:19:00 PM
i can finally post pictures of the one i made for a swap! this project took my much too long. i had to do a lot of seam ripping. and not because the tutorial was flawed, but because i didn't read properly or i thought i could take short cuts!

thanks again for this great tutorial gloriana. i can't wait to see what you are going to come up with next!

stargirl and i have both received from each other. i haven't had a chance to take pictures of the wonderful goodies i got, but here are photos of what i sent her.

i stalked a bit and saw that she had wanted a pair of knit mary jane slippers. i knit them from wool i dyed in various shades of red kool aid.

a reversible tote bag. one side is red, they other a black with tiny white polka dots.

and a close up of the star button and shaky polks dot fabri:

stargirl is a math major and i wanted to do more math themed stuffs, but i only ended up with these 2 small items. a pencil case made from spirograph print fabric and 4 notecards with math quotes on them.

and finally a harry potter style messenger bag. i embroidered her initials on the flap, it is in her house colors (gryfindor), has a magical/star print lining (not pictured), and embellished with hogwarts pin and nimbus 2000 key chain.
