1  My Alter Ego Lamp in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by rissaroo on: September 16, 2005 04:07:15 PM

I was inspired by this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=27711.0

But, things seem to fall down from my ceiling and the head is REALLY heavy.

So, i turned it into a lamp. It is modeled after my superhero alter ego!

2  butt-pocket welcome sign planter in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by rissaroo on: June 26, 2005 07:14:29 AM
I cut the pocket off of an old pair of jeans, added a ribbon, and, in my kindergarten style embriodery, wrote "welcome." it hangs on the front door filled with impatiens.

5  Re: Show me your craft "room"!! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by rissaroo on: March 20, 2005 06:44:10 PM
well i have all my craft stuff in two huge rubbermaid boxes, which means that anytime i do a project crap is all over the place becuase i inevitably need what is in the bottom of the second box i look in... this room also doubles as our office so i paint to the 30-second sound loop of Boyfriend Donny's computer games. The tubes of acrylic paint are in clear shoe boxes, loosely organized by color. I really need to start putting these things in drawers, well, someday maybe. Here is a picture in the messy situation, i was in the middle of doing some picture frames:

you will notice that the sewing machine has a handy spot on a shelf - yeah someday i might actually learn to use it...

Some of the individual pieces are posted elsewhere, but here is how it all fits together - sort of.

(this is new) before you walk in, my container garden - i have a serious case of yard envy;

Front of the apartment - the kitchen/living/dining areas are all open:

8  Picture frames and random fun things UPDATE in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by rissaroo on: March 18, 2005 07:26:21 PM
Here is the newest:

It is an old lamp, i think my mom got it at Target a long time ago. It was very plain. I got the green lampshade and iron on flowers at Michaels, then used those colors for painting the lamp base. The drawers are very handy for hiding odds and ends on my nightstand! Wink

Well in the hallway - hence crappy angle for picture - Boyfriend Donny and I leave each other messages and cartoons on the fun chalkboard. I esp. love the fun wood bucket from Hobby Lobby that i painted:

Also, the hallway was so DARK - there was no lighting there so i hung up these outdoor summer lights from target. Yay for command hooks!

In the front hall i have this mirror. I originally did it years ago to hang over kitchen sink and lighten up the dark kitchen. The things around it are tin ornaments from Mexico that my mom sent to remind me of home (San Antonio, where they are everywhere!)

when i was in New Orleans, i found this plate rack at a craft store, got some cheap frames to paint, and here we are:

Here are some picture frames i did recently, still need to find pics for them:

And here, i <3 wood peg hooks from the craft store, this is a 99cent one i painted. I actually have several of these in the front entryway.

Oh i forgot to post this side table.

When i moved out of my old apartment, the landlord was cleaning out the basement the same day. They were dumping all this old stuff at the curb, and i snatched the table and threw it in the moving van before anyone else could claim it! for the paint, i actually mixed two leftover colors from my kitchen!

10  flower mosaic table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by rissaroo on: March 18, 2005 06:52:20 PM
my baby sister made this for my first apartment many years ago and i still use it - in fact have the computer on it right now!
She was about 13 at the time and my mom signed her up for every summer activity in existence - including an art workshop on making mosaics. I then pestered her to make me one, and we amazingly found the perfect size board and some old iron legs lying in my mom's garage!

here is the flower table:
