1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: Frosted glass tutorial -- How to make your own frosted glassware! on: November 06, 2005 04:23:37 PM
Hi, thanks for the tutorial and the inspiration!  I etched a couple glasses as gifts for my boyfriend's birthday -- those are our cats.  I'm pretty pleased with the results!

I want to know, though, is the Kureyon a bit scratchy for you? Did you wash it after knitting?

The Kureyon was kind of scratchy to work with, but it's oddly not so bad all knitted up.  I'm going to block it and see if that doesn't make it a little softer.  I recently made some fingerless mitts from Kureyon (I'm addicted) and they were surprisingly not scratchy.  Then again, my hands are pretty calloused so perhaps I just didn't notice!

That is a super-cute little sweater.

Hi, talented lovelies!

I just made the Child's Rainbow Scarf for a friend of mine.  It was super fun to make because of the way the colorways would change and contrast.

I used one full skein each of Noro Kureyon #95 and #102.

Yay!

I'm equally obsessed with Firefly and knitting, so it seemed only natural that I make a Jayne Cobb hat for my Firefly-obsessed friends' baby:

I sort of winged it; I used the pattern by Emisanboo as a guideline (thanks!  it's an awesome pattern!), and various screenshots from the show.  I used Cascade 220 as I was afraid the thicker rougher yarns would be too scratchy.

I am so proud.

Also, this is my first Craftster post.  Hi!
