1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: 2016 Holiday and Card Swap - Gallery (send by Nov 10)... on: November 27, 2016 08:20:45 AM

And this absolutely stunning 3-d card.  Freaking amazing.

So glad you liked it!  I had a bit of a hard time parting with it but I wanted to share the love.  That card is in my opinion the best card I have ever made.  There might have been a few curse words uttered while making it though... lol.  Such fun learning new techniques.

Now for my beautiful package from Thimbles71

Fun tags!

The cards were done with adhering fabric onto cardstock.  Loved the technique.  Going to steal it for myself.  The results as you can see are fantastic.

Christmas bird

And my favourite because I am a sucker for airplanes

Love the window cut out

Thanks so much Thimbles.  I have already chosen who is getting several of the cards!

I received 2 more awesome packages. So much fun to see the variety of techniques used by everyone.

Starting with my package from Artmomto5

Fun glittery tags with festive pictures

This super cute card which had a cute coordinating envelope

Love this Noel card with the fleur de lis. Great textures used.

The button card is my favourite of the lot.  Love the big star on top

And this really creative card using old cards.  Great upcycling

...and baby is awake. I'll post Thimbles cards this evening.  Thank you so much for sharing your talents with my Artmom!  It was a really nice package to receive.

Thanks for your nice comments!  I really like your take of the orientation of the snowflake card.  In my mind, it is the other way - but I realize, the way you have it, it could have been set up like an easel card!

Totally thought of that too!  It's such a fun card.  I've already picked out who is getting it. Smiley

Time to post the awesomeness I received in the mail from Onyxnox.

These beautiful snowflakes are stunning.  I love 3D aspects to cards.  The shading around the edges makes for an antique look.  Love them!

Gorgeous bird cards.  I'm going to be copying the doubling of the die cuts.  I love this look so much. And the birds are delightful.

The picture doesn't do this set justice but the poinsettia shimmers. I love the coordinating background.

Love love love this set!  The embossing around the edges really pop the main image.

This set makes me think of an ideal old fashioned Christmas.  The wood balanced against the wreath and birds is perfect.

Last but certainly not least this tree set.  I'm a sucker for embossing and silver against blue is always one of my favourite combos.  I feel like the bling (did you notice the tiny stars?) really finishes the look.

I loved the package.  Thanks again Onyxnox.  You once again spoiled me and I so look forward to using these.

So I'm pretty much done the swap.  I really like most of what I've done.  I have a couple cards that I'm not sure if they are completed.  Sometimes less is more, you know.  But then I'm browsing through Michael's with a coupon and "Holy Cow are those stickers of dogs with Santa hats and they are 60 percent off??"

Back to the craft room.  New plans for Onyxnox.

Just got back from a scrapbooking weekend.  You stay at a camp and there's a large room with tables to work at.  Your bed is about 50 ft from your table and meals are served for you.  We stayed up each night until the wee hours of the morning.  Although my mom just straight up stayed up all night and went to bed in the morning.  The organizer brings all of her stamp sets and lets you borrow them. I'd say she has about 300 sets.  The timing of partners was excellent as I could work on the swap while having all of those different stamp sets to play with.

I've made good progress.  I only have 2 cards and 2 tags left to make Smiley

OK... it may help to know - I am a nurse, and I bought it for another nurse - it is an antique one, and she is going to use it to plant succulents in - it's actually quite heavy, and stoneware - quite beautifully made.

And we both have a quirky sense of humour.

Some housekeeping.... in case we have an odd number - is anyone interested in being in two groups so I can make up a third group of 4 for the swap?

Or alternately, instead of being in a group of 4, where each person sends out to three others, if we are still at 9 people in the swap, being in a group of 5, where each person sends out to others - making a total of 16 tags and cards.

You can post here or PM me if you are interested

Oh man, that is hilarious.

I'd be up for the group of 5 if needed.
