I recommend the book "Sewing for Plus Sizes" by Barbara Deckert if you can find it...amazing lady with great info on how to alter patterns for your curves. Just ignore some of the...um...outfits she wears in it.  Tongue I wouldn't have a wardrobe without this book, as I don't care for ready-to-wear anything except the odd pair of jeans for grubbing about in the garden.
